Help Choosing Quieter Resort - POP, AoA, or a Moderate?

IME, POR is not quiet. POFQ may come close to meeting of your requirements...it also has a newer kiddie splash pad.

Even with the ongoing work, CSR is my favorite. We recently returned and stayed in Cabanas (near the construction) and we could not hear any construction noise inside the room. It is an extremely peaceful resort with great beds! CSR is also the most central resort, so it's going to give you a slightly shorter travel time to MK and possibly better/less crowded busing overall.

I have a newly three-year-old son, and AoA and POFQ are his two favorite resorts.

At 2, he loved the Nemo-themed splash pad at AoA. Also, if your son likes Cars, he will love that section of the resort. My son was actually more interested in running around looking at the Cars than going to the parks. A suite will also eliminate the possibility of having rooms at opposite ends of the resort. It is going to be louder than a moderate, but we've stayed there several times and never had an issue with the noise. There's tons of stuff for your son to look at, and it is a family favorite for us.

POFQ will be significantly more quiet, and they also have a more elaborate splash pad area (though some parts were almost too rough for my DS). My DS actually loves to go down the dragon slide at that pool. I would go to the top, and my DH would grab him at the bottom. All the pools have kids life jackets in a variety of sizes you can use. Your rooms may end up apart, but the resort isn't that big, so it wouldn't be the end of the world. It's also nice to be able to take the boat to Disney Springs, and you can also use the pool and facilities at POR.

Another vote for POFQ and another discouragement of any values. They are incredibly noisy, and I have heard from several people it can be difficult to even find a beach chair.

We stayed at a bunch of resorts..

We found POP to be the busiest, loudest and most active. Tons of tour groups, cheerleaders etc.

AOA was not that bad because so many of the rooms are suites and looks like the two times we stayed there that there we no tour groups?? I don’t think they have enough room inventory to book them there.

Of the mods, we found Coronado Springs to be ehhhh. Lots of convention folks and more of a drinking evening crowd.

Port Orleans (both Riverside and French Quarter) were slower paced. Plus a nice boat ride to Disney Springs. Still hard to not call it downtown Disney.. lol

We did All Star sports a long time ago so not sure of the status now.

Family suite at ASMusic? We didn't think it was noisy there at all, and especially not when compared to POP or AoA!

I would recommend either POFQ or the cabins at Ft. Wilderness for your trip.

We stayed in a cars suite a few years back for 2 nights. All I've heard since then from my son is when can we stay in the cars room again. If your son is 2 though, he might not really appreciate it fully. But then a suite at AOA is probably going to be most cost effective compared to two rooms.

Hi everyone! My DH, DS(2), my mom, and myself will be taking our first family Disney trip next January (first time DH & I have gone together and first time for DS). I am about to go crazy figuring out which resort might work best for us! We will either do AoA suite or rent 2 rooms at other resorts. Can you guys give me some advice? It would be so appreciated!! :) Here are my biggest concerns:
***We'd prefer a quieter resort. While DS would probably love to see the construction at some resorts, I worry about the noise during the day (we will likely need to come back to room midday for nap).
**Transportation. I know to expect to spend a fair amount of time for transportation between resort and parks. However, is there a resort that tends to have quicker transportation (especially to Magic)?
**Pool will not be a concern for us this time, but I am interested in a resort playground for DS to have some quieter play time during our less-busy days.
**Are the beds at a Moderate more comfortable (aside from the size difference)?
Thank you guys so much for any feedback!

I have stayed at AoA in a Lion King family suite, and really enjoyed it. It was a girls trip, my mom, my DD and me. The pull out couch was quite comfortable, my mom slept on it without any problems. DD slept on the pull down, she is a adult and fit fine... With a 2.5 year old I'm not sure how this would work, I would bring his pack and play or a blow up mattress. In the bedroom the bed is a queen size, which was fine for just me... But we would not have been able to go this route if DH was with us. He is 6'4" and I am 5'8". Having 2 bathrooms, and some space was great, and the little kitchenette was nice for drinks and such.

POR is what we consider our home resort. We love it here we prefer the bayou rooms but have stayed in the magnolia sections and enjoy it to, In January of this year, we took DD, DGS, Sil, DH and Me to celebrate DGS 2 birthday, DH and I got a King bed, and DD's family went with the 2 beds which were queens, and we got lucky and got rooms next to each other with the door so we could go between. I did request the section and the rooms with the door in between. I feel that the Bayou rooms are quieter.

POFQ - is the smallest resort, and we have stayed here several times as well. One of thing we like is being able to walk to the other resort (POR) about a10 minute walk or less depending on where your room is, so its give you 2 food courts which is nice, both have a boat to Disney Springs which is nice for getting down there for the evening.

CBR - welcome to the islands, our DD's loved staying here when they were school aged, the pool is like a old fort, and the kiddie pool area is like a pirate ship... So cute... We find that at times the rates are a bit lower here, and I believe there is some type of construction going on.

All of the resorts have some type of play ground area.

As far a transportation, my DGS thought riding the bus was fun... We really don't worry about riding the bus around. give yourself at least a hour or so if you have breakfast ADR's some where.

Also just so you know you can't go from resort to resort on the buses. So say if you have Breakfast ADR's for Chef Mickeys, take a bus to MK, and they use the monorail for the resort to get off at CR. Or you can use Uber if you want which we have done to get there, I know the new Minnie Lyft vans are in action, but not sure when they will be at all the resorts. Then once your done you can use the monorail to get to Epcot or MK or grab a bus to another park.

Enjoy your first trip, seeing it through your little guys eyes is amazing... I spent most of our trip watching him, watching and pointing to everything, and saying all the character names, I will say at the meet and greet, he was a bit shy with some and others not...

I will make a suggestion Do the Disney junior character breakfast at DHS... the character interaction was so amazing, and our DGS knew all the characters, he was so excited to meet Jake, it was just wonderful...

POFQ sounds right up your alley if you can afford it. It is a smaller resort and more laid back than the other moderates. It has a nice pool and playground area for the kids. Also you are allowed to use all the facilities at POR as well.

I think the moderates are more quite than some of the deluxes. We stayed at the Poly last year and it was just ok. Seemed super noisey. Not the room just the general areas. I found for the moderates POFQ and CSR to be the quiet ones. We stayed alot at pop century not really quiet but we really like it. I found the chaos the worst at the poly.
