We are going Dec 10 - 15. We usually check in on Sunday but due to free dining not starting until the 10th we will not be able to check in until Monday. DH says we will stay off property Sunday night with free hotel points. There are 5 of us total (me, DH, DS 9, DS 6, DS 1). Also friends are traveling at the same time with their children who are all within a year of my kids ages. We are staying at Coronado which is a first for us. We usually stay at the Value resorts but want a queen bed this time. Open to any and all suggestions.

Monday December 10th - Animal Kingdom most of the day and jumping over to MK for extra magic evening hours. Breakfast at 8:20 at Tusker House (hope we make it since they said we can't get our tickets until 7am.

Tuesday December 11th - DHS

Wensday December 12th - MK breakfast at Crystal Palace at 9:15

Thursday December 13th - Epcot Akershus at 6:40

Friday December 14th - Float day; anything we missed; jump between parks

Saturday December 15th check out and get ready for drive back home. Breakfast at Ohana 9:55

Hi there!

On the days where you list your ADR, are you planning to spend those days in those particular parks?

Also, how late do the MK EMH run? If you've got a 6 year old and a one year old, would it be worth going if its going to keep them up later when they are tired? Maybe AK the first day and spend the evening in the pool? Not sure how far you are driving, but maybe you could tack on those extra fews hours at MK to the last day of your trip, after breakfast?

Note: I have no children, so no idea what time they usually go to bed, nor how long they can last per day at a Disney park ;) Enjoy your trip!

This will be my first trip as a Mommy (6yrs and 9 months), and the advice I have been given multiple times is to work in afternoon breaks to head back to hotel and rest or swim, then head back to parks in late afternoon.

I've been working on our family plan of attack for our trip in November...I had to resort to creating a spreadsheet!! LOL

Hope you all have a great time!

I have a son 5 years old we go to WDW once a year since he was 2 and we never have been available to wacth fireworks park closing, night time paredes and that kind of staff. Our strategic is to be at park opening work our schedule until no past 4 p.m. go back to hotel allow my son to relax in the room, eat dinner and later we can expend a couple of hours in the pool. Of course this works for us because he is use to follow a daily routine and it does not matter were we are of what day is (even Christmas) he knows bed time is a 8 p.m. I really miss staying in the parks until closing time, but I prefer a well sleept child and not a crunky one in the morning.

Dee Dee makes a great point here. I dont personally have any kids but I remember when i was younger and my parents used to bring me and my brother to WDW, we would go to the parks early in the am, and around early afternoon, take the monorail back to the hotel and for some pool/relaxation time and they would almost force us to take a nap so that we would be ok for later on in the night/dinner etc.... Looking back at it now, i speak to my parents about it and I agreed with their approach. That is good advice!!! :o)

Thanks!!! I have already started preparing my DSD6 for the breaks during the day, and have explained we will leave the park in the afternoon for a "cool down", and then made it very clear we will go back to the park after we rest.

I don't expect her to nap since she is not a nap taker anymore, but I would be happy if she would relax and watch a movie or color for a bit. Luckily my baby is a pretty sound sleeper so it would not surprise me if he slept thru the parade and fireworks. I'm more worried about them scaring him. If they do, might give a good excuse to go into stores and shop with him. Hehe
