We need some cheap ideas! We will be staying on property March 21st - 30th and we usually rent a car to get from the airport to the resorts, but it happens to be Easter week, and Spring Break, so there are no good rates anywhere! :sad2: Even with our AP's there were no decent deals! How does everyone get from the airport to their resorts?!? :confused3 We need some cheap ideas! (Another problem is that we are transfering from the ASSp to the Dolphin on the 23rd and I have heard that because the Dolphin is not a completely Disney owned hotel, they will not help you tranfer over there from one of their true resorts.. is this true? If so, what do I do?!? :listen:

(Don't know if this is the right place to post.... sorry if I'm wrong!)

MEARS Motorcoach will be at the airport , down by all of the taxis. Good way to get to and from parks.

Can'y you do Magical Express since you are staying on-site?

NB

Magical Express doesn't start until May 5.

You may want to look into a towncar. For 4 of you it would be cheaper than a Taxi or the Mears shuttle at roughley $25 pp. We use Tiffany Towncar service and they are wonderful. Darcy is the best driver! you can find their rates at www.tiffanytowncar.com . Good luck!

Prestige Towncar, $80 plus tip for round-trip service.

You are going to pay that if you take mears or cab also (depending on how many in your party, of course).

There are only about three ways to get to your hotel. Rent a car, get a town car, or mears. It seems you have a handle on that. I would like to suggest a fourth way, look really sad at baggage claim, hold a sign with your resort on it, and try to have someone let you share their town car. This will work.

The towncar service is the best way to go. Most will allow you a 30 minute grocery stop if you want to pick up snacks and drinks for your room. You go right to your hotel instead of stopping at alot of other hotel rooms on the way. Oh yes, it's also cheaper than Mears. We used www.********.net. I think you can find coupons on Mousesavers or allearsnet.

Why was this ****'d out??

Because it was a company that resorted to posting on these boards to get riders. The boards have one transporation sponsor and while they are nice enough to let us discuss any company, the board owners draw the line at outright advertising. (I figure if you have to resort to that to get customers I don't need you)

I hope I didn't upset anyone by recommending another towncar service. It's just that we have used them in the past and have had nothing but wonderful service! I am a firm believer in choices and I always am looking for a cheaper and better way to make my vacation $ stretch!

no offense taken! Thank you all for your wonderful replies.. we will be waiting it out a little longer to see if anything gets any cheaper as our trip gets closer.... (26 days!!! soooo excited!! :cool1: :cool1: )

We use the LYNX, Orlando's public bus system and it was highly effective, friendly and thrifty! It was only $1.25 per person one way! :flower:

There have been posts of people getting their luggage transferred to/from S/D. Ask/TIP the bellcaptain. They don't have to do it but it sounds like people who get ask nicely get helped. Sounds like you're going from All Stars to S/D? I don't think they have a bellhop you might wind up just grabbing a cab. Ask at the front desk first.

For 2 adults and 2 children 4-12 Mears would cost $100. It would be less if one of your kids is under 4 and more if one is over 12.

A towncar would be about the same price, with tip maybe a little more, but you'd save more than that with a grocery stop.
