Trying to help my brother plan a family vacation to WDW in late June. Staying on-site would be out of their price range, considering that they would really do better with a suite. It is my DB, DSIL, DN13 and DN7, so it really would be better for them to have a suite. Also, they will be able to save a lot of money by preparing meals with a fridge and microwave. They will have a rental car, so they don't necessarily need a hotel with a shuttle, though that would save them the cost of parking at the parks.

So, can you recommend a suite hotel? I have been reading about HIFS, but cannot find a website or any way to get a price quote. Also, my family stayed at the Quality Suites Maingate right across from Old Towne or something like that, 10 years ago. It was absolutely wonderful, and I would recommend that to them if it is still pretty good quality and if it has good rates.

skyauction(you can get 2 bedroom condos for 1 week for around $265) Look at the ready, set, go auctions
or Hotelkingdom has good rates. We stayed at the Amerisuites Calypso Cay for around $45. 2 doble beds, sofa bed and mini kitchen.

Country Inns & Suites, Calypso Cay. Abt 10 minutes from WDW.

We paid abt $60/night which included breakfast. Room has microwave & fridge. Plus there are gas grills out by the pool. It'd be easy to grill some hotdogs or burgers.

3 pools, 1 zero entry w/ a water slide. Also have small mini golf, w/ no extra charge. Plus, a nice (little) playground, fenced in.

Quiet location. Close to supermarkets.

Would need a rental car, though.

We've stayed at the Quality Suites in 2002 and it was fine. That year, we also stayed next door at the Days Suites for $39.95. That was great. It was a tremendous value at that price and just a 30-second walk to Old Town.

Another option to consider, you can get a 2-bedroom condo at Windsor Palms starting at $55 depending on season. They are almost new and very nice. We stayed in a 3-bedroom condo there in November.

I'd recommend any Residence Inn by Marriott near DisneyWorld (check their website www.marriott.com for exact locations)

They offer 1 and 2-bedroom suites....they are not cheap but may offer the best overall value in that

a) they have very clean, well appointed suites (100% of time)
b) have good Entertainment Card rates (50% of rack)
c) the meals that they give you (free hot breakfast buffet 7 days, hot evening appetizers Mon-Thu, plus free beverages) can really let a family extract a lot of value
d) customer service is excellent! Marriott staff are very friendly, competent, and well-trained to be service-oriented.
e) you can earn Marriott Rewards points for every dollar spent ...redeemable for future stays or merchandise (once you register for the program!)

Good luck!
