Help! Cat 5 vs. 4 - upgrade for dirt cheap or save $?

I need some quick opinions on cabin categories. We were originally booked for the 1/25/03 eastern in a cat. 6, but since they aren't booking that (Superbowl) cruise too quickly they released a good resident rate for it. Cat. 6 is not included, but we can either get a cat. 5 for $300 less or a cat. 4 for $100 more than our original cost.

My DH leans toward upgrading, but unless there's a pretty big difference in the cabins I think I'd lean toward saving $300.

What do you all think?

How many are in your group? If it's just the two of you, take the Cat. 5, definitely! If you've got a couple of older kids then I'd go with the Cat. 4, there is a very LITTLE bit of extra space with a Cat. 4 but with four people in the cabin it might be worth it.

Honestly, I'd save the money and take the Cat. 5 if it's the cheapest option. Your kids are relatively young and the amount of difference in space is minimal. You can EASILY spend that $300 on other things on the ship that will make your cruise more enjoyable than a few extra square feet of space!

I second Michelle... for $300, you could almost pay for some really cool excursions for your family... I haven't been in CAT 4 or CAT 5 (Will be in a CAT 5 in 9 Days!!!) But from what I have seen, the only benefit of the CAT 4 is that it can sleep 5. Other than that the set-up is basically the same, and the extra space in the CAT 4 is mainly for the murphey bed.
