I've been posting with crazy questions about Memories, Escape, and DCL Collection Weddings and I am just stuck and can't decide. One day I like one option and the next day I like another. So for another crazy post :rolleyes1....We will have between 8 to 13 guests including ourselves. Our guests would enjoy WDW or the cruise equally. All of the options cost about the same. To see if it would help... what option would you pick and why? Any suggestions in helping me choose?

Option 1: Memories Wedding and 5 Nights WDW With Family + 3 Night Honeymoon Cruise
  • CON: Only parents could watch ceremony... our brothers and family could be on the beach relaxing but not close to the ceremony
  • CON: Separate resort from family for 2 nights (us poly.. them AKL)
  • PRO: Wishes on Wedding Day on Grand 1 Yacht (Favorite Show)
  • PRO: High quality photography with first look, ceremony, and Wishes fireworks photos
  • PRO: Large villa accommodations for family
Wedding Day:
  • GF Senses Spa 9:00-11:00am
  • Hair/ Make-Up 11:00-1:00pm
  • First Look Photos GF 2:00 (Outside Vendor Photography)
  • Ceremony Luau Beach 3:00pm
  • Photography 3:15-4:00
  • Cocktails on Luau Beach or Trader Sams
  • Dinner at Ohana 6:00-8:00pm
  • Cocktails on Luau Beach, Trader Sams, or Monorail Lounges
  • Wishes Cruise Grand 1 Yacht with Cake, Champagne, and Photography 9:00-10:00pm

Option 2: 4 or 5 Night Cruise Wedding with Family + 3 or 4 Nights WDW Honeymoon
  • CON: Worse photography because don't want to pay to bring photographer on board
  • CON: Cramped accommodations for family
  • PRO: Everyone can attend ceremony
  • PRO: Cake and Champagne Celebration Reception
  • PRO: Wedding includes more for same price... $100 credit, Palo Dinner for 2, Dress Steaming etc.
  • PRO: Everyone is at the same place and no resort hopping
Wedding Day:
  • Pool Day 9:00am-12:00pm
  • Hair/ Make-Up: 1:00-3:00
  • Wedding 4:30
  • Cake and Champagne Reception 4:45-5:30
  • Dinner at Palo
  • Cruise Entertainment
Option 3: Escape Wedding and 5 Nights WDW with Family + 3 Nights WDW Honeymoon
  • CON: No 3 night cruise for honeymoon because would use it to cover cost of escape wedding
  • CON: No Polynesian resort (favorite hotel...staying at AKL instead which will still be nice)
  • CON: Don't really want to pay a premium for WP just to have wedding for our group size in MK area
  • PRO: Wishes on Wedding Night on Grand 1 Yacht
  • PRO: Everyone can attend ceremony
  • PRO: Large villa accommodations for family
  • PRO: High quality photography with first look, ceremony, and Wishes fireworks photos
Wedding Day:
  • GF Senses Spa 8:00-10:00am
  • Hair/ Make up 10:00am-12pm
  • First Look Photos 1:00pm
  • Wedding at Wedding Pavillon at 2:00pm
  • Cake and Champagne Reception 2:20-3:00pm
  • Cocktails on Beach or Lounges
  • Dinner at Ohana 5:30pm
  • Cocktails Beach or Lounge
  • Grand 1 Yacht Wishes Cruise with Photography 9:00-10:00

Even after writing this all out I still don't know!!

Personally, I would choose option 2 or 3 to make sure my family would be able to be at the ceremony. But it's such a personal decision, it's hard to say which option is best.

I'm not sure if this helps or makes you more confused, but if you choose option 2, would it be possible for you to do a photo shoot with a photographer once you get back to WDW? Maybe you can get back into your wedding attire and hire a photographer to take photos of you at a resort or something. So at least you'd get that missing aspect of option 2.

a 3 night cruise is not the most enjoyable. very hectic and though it sure is cool (we love cruising more that the parks), the 3 nighters tend to be a hectic, kiddo filled, rashest and i would really shy away from that. a 4 night honeymoon cruise would be awesome. its amazing what a difference the one sea day makes.

I'd choose the Escape wedding. I find Memories far too restricting and I don't like that feeling...
A cruise is nice in theory but having done a 3 night on the Wonder and Dream I'd never want to do it as anything other than a chill holiday...

I'd pick option #3. A short cruise won't be that relaxing and this allows all your guests to attend you wedding and gives you the most flexibility. but that's just my preference.

It's really about what you and your fiance prefer, but I would definitely go with the option that lets everyone see the ceremony, it's such an important moment and I know me & hubby couldn't have gotten married without our siblings around us too.

Number 3, then you could do a cruise for your first anniversary! You could even invite friends and family to join you, but not have the financial responsibility for anything wedding related.

Have fun planning!
