Libert Tree Tavern is a great place for a first day. Good food and nice character interaction.

At animal kingdom take advantage of the vouchers- you get an entree, drink, popcorn or ice cream, and another drink for a very reasonable price.

On days where you will be doing two sit down restaurants I recommend eating lunch early and dinner late b/c the portions are huge.

We love 'ohana, sci-fi and Bomas.

Save room for dessert at B&C. The sundaes are yummy but huge.

For dinner in Epcot, my family loves Beirgarten.

At Universal, we like Pastamore & Margaretaville at citywalk. In Universal I would recommend La Bamba for counter service and Finnegan's (Irish pub) for sit down.

You have LTT two to three times. Why not try Crystal Palace, 1900 park fare or Chef Mickey's for a character buffet.

Also good in DTD is Earl of sandwich- loved it!

Oh yeah, forgot Kona Cafe. Instead of doing the plaza twice, go to Kona for lunch. It's a short ride on the monorail from the MK and is a great calming break in a very busy day. Have Koko puffs for dessert.

since you are going to ltt later in the week also I might change one for whispering canyon..good food and fun place.

to cut costs I 'd switch beaches to dinner ( do not remember it's hrs but think they are open at dinner time) and do lunch at le cellier ( or what ever appeals to you) then you can try it without breaking the budget.

just as an aside, i do not know the ages of your kids but ours never ate much at character meals ( to excited by the characters) so personally i'd go with the cheapest you can find and only 1 or 2..they can see characters other places also and you do need them to eat to sometime keep up a good pace at the parks

wolfgang pucks express has excellent pizza. and the cost was reasonable.we ate on the west side but i am guessing it would be as good at the other one

we also like trails' end,( not far from mk by boat) for any meal .that also can help with the costs

We have found over time it's difficult to do two sit down's in one day. Unless like the other poster said you do lunch very early and dinner later. You walk away from most sit downs pretty full. I also agree about trying either 1900 park fare or chef mickeys your first night. Susan

If you have picky eaters, you can try Crystal Palace your first night -- it's a buffet.

I think Prime Time Cafe has better food than Sci Fi.

You might try an Epcot country for lunch -- it's cheaper! Then do a smaller dinner.

I have found Cinderella's Royal Table to be a great sit-down place for lunch.

They make a point to tell you that there are no characters, but both times I've been Cinderella has been on her throne greeting guests (go early or you won't have time to take a picture of your child with her). She was very nice and took time to talk to the children. It is a far more intimate interaction since only restaurant guests are there. The picture with my kids turned out great and I sent it to my local paper for publication.

The food was very good, in my opinion.

As for Ohanas, this is one of my least favorite places at DisneyWorld to eat. The meat is terribly overcooked, and the service for me has not been very good.

I love Chefs de France, the Japanese tapenyaki place and even the Mexican place in Epcot. There are so many good places to eat at Disney that I would not do the same one twice in one trip.

Which restaurant is better as far as atmosphere? We like places that don't sit you too close to strangers (like tables next to each other - very close) and darkish
type of atmosphere at night.

:teeth:  thanks for all of your wonderful ideas and advice! I am switching the 2x ohana meals by adding one of something else, maybe Chef Mickey's?
Is this going to get me in the spirit? Can someone describe 1900 Park Fare??

I agree with poohs pal...we have found in the past that scheduling two sit down meals in one day can be too much. We have actually gotten sick of eating.

I also understand wanting to get the most out of your trip. My advice is be flexible...if you start to feel it's too much, grab something light at counter service...

Anywhere else to eat for an exciting meal? we like places w/ themes/atmosphere, like the rainforest looks neat (saw on allears.net)

any ideas?

......I can speak about the Crab House on Palm Parkway near Disney. Each time we visit WDW we always make one or two side trips to the Crab House. The food is very good. The atmosphere is bright and lively. Our kids love it, too. VERY GOOD fresh fish (especially the flounder) and shell fish. I am sure you will enjoy it.

I wouldn't do any of the seafood buffets for the simple reason the food stays in warming trays and many fish/shell fish tends to dry out and becomes very dry and chewy.
Enjoy the food and your Disney trip.

i'm nervous, gotta call in my ps's and not sure about time frames !
and places> help!

Here's my recommendations:

Saturday: I'd do dinner at the Crystal Palace. The food is great.
Sunday: I was not thrilled with the Plaza on my last trip. I'd do Whispering Canyon instead.
Monday: I'd do lunch at the 50's Primetime, instead of the Sci Fi. Food is much better.
Tuesday: What about dining somewhere in EPCOT like the Rose & Crown or Le Cellier?
Wednesday: I have not heard the best reviews about Fulton's. I'd recommend House of Blues instead.
Saturday: I'd do Chef Mickey's for breakfast, since dinner is pretty bad. For Dinner, I'd recommend Cindy's.

Thank you so much Terk 1 !!

I don't really know about Cindy's - is it in the castle?? If not, where is it?

What's it like? I guess since we're going to LTT 2 more times, we should eat somewhere convenient in the MK park!:wave2:
