We are currently "planning" to go to Poly in Feb 2006. We are 2 adults and 1 8 yr old and 1 small 5 yr old.... no problem for one room, right?

Well, my parents are coming to meet us for one night during our stay... do you think that I can have them stay w/ us? ... what if I mention it to the CM there? I will pay extra...

Don't flame me... please! I just want to ask .. if not, I will book them in another resort I guess.

Thanks in advance for the advice! :flower:

I really don't know where they would sleep..... I think they'd be more comfortable in their own room. Surely between now and then they can save the $$ for the one night.

You won't be allowed to do that. I would make them a reservation for another room. Good luck.

Six people in one room? Even if it's only for one night, that sounds mighty crowded. Six people to 1 bathroom also?...EEK!

Thanks for the advice guys! I just didn't want to have my parents incur extra $... they are already renting a place in Clearwater during that time and will be paying for 2 places at once! I thought I'd be able to put DD between DH and me and DS on daybed... that way parents can have a bed?

I will mention it when booking, then I will use CM's judgement... but, it seems it is not allowed! oh, well! :confused3

ok here is my opinion if yo have 2 beds and a day bed you could absolutely do it for one night we did during the hurricanes we put bioth the kids on the day bed one on one end one on the other.. if you have to do it and feel comfortable doing it go for it... although they would prob be happier in a room of there own.. my suggestion treat them to a room for the night and let the kids "stay" with them one night they get gradparents time and you and hubby can have time... enjoy!!!

The CM won't allow it. They're very strict about their occupancy. So, if you did want to do this, you would have to do it without telling the reservation agent, and without telling the front desk.

I don't know how much your heart is set on the Polynesian, but maybe you could try renting points and get a 2 bedroom villa at one of the DVC resorts?

Disney does not MAKE it an easy task finding accomodations for 6 guests. :(

No worries! It's simple...tell the front desk CM's your parents are joining you for one night and they will need a parking pass.

They may charge you an extra per person charge but it's less than an extra room.

Have a magical vacation! :wizard:

I think it would be fine for one night You all could fit easy. the kids in the pull out and parents in one bed you guys in another. are you getting a crib?? the baby could be in the crib.

It is not a pull out, but a true "day bed" single size, and I don't think the 5yo is going to fit in a crib, esp a WDW pnp crib!

Honestly with the size and set up of the Poly, for one night you probably will fit. But... I doubt the resort will let you go over the max occupancy which if IIRC is 5. If they do you will be charged $50.00, ($25.00 for each adult over 2).

So you could have them bring an airbed or sleeping bag for the 5yo, the 8yo could sleep on the daybed and you have enough sleeping room. The dilemma is that you would not be able to get your parents a keycard or parking pass. You would also be breaking rules. Not giving any opinon in regards to if you should do it or not.

I think your best bet is to have them spend some time with you and then if you can get a good rate at a value it would cost them between 79-and 100 per night If you can get a code it could be even better $. If they are willing to stay offisite then the price goes down significantly. You can still spend all day, most of the evening, and then most of the next day tothether before they head back to Clearwater. BTW, we LOVE Clearwater and split our vacation between WDW and Clearwater Beach most times.

Those people who have told you about room occupancy are correct. The rooms at the Poly are suited for 5 persons. 2 QB and 1 DB. If you bring additional persons into the room, you risk being asked to leave. This isn't meant as a thread but the room occupancy levels are set for your protection and safty. I realise that people don't think it's "such a big deal", but those are the rules. Perhaps staying at Port Orleans, Riverside, in 2 rooms would be better for you.

Ursula... thanks for the advice... I called my mom and she said they would stay at POFQ or POR for one night!

Thanks everyone! Now I know!

My parents drove up to the Grand Californian from San Diego for 1 night. I told the front desk CM's. No problems and they never charged us extra. We were a party of 3 with parents making us 5. There were 2 beds and I consider the rooms small-ish to say the least. Our son was 8. Oh yea, we were concierge level too. :flower:
