Every year I make my grandmother's kale with bacon and onions for Turkey Day. It is NOT Thanksgiving without her kale. I usually use a scissor to cut the bacon bits and it takes FOREVER and my fingers are killing me at the end. Would a really good knife work well? Pile it up and cut away? When I've tired a knife in the past it didn't work well, but maybe I just need a better knife? Thanks!

I would say either better scissors or a better knife. Do you have an electric knife? They are cheep and would be super easy to use on this.

Oh, never thought of my electric knife! I could put the bacon in a stack and cut away I guess! Thanks.

I use scissors too. I find that it is much easier if the bacon is still a little frozen.
Kale with bacon and onions sounds yummy! Maybe when you get through that pile o' bacon and your fingers have recovered from the torture you could post the recipe?

Another vote for partial freezing. If you buy packaged bacon, I would leave it stacked just like it comes out of the package.

I bake my bacon.. Put in over until crispy. Crumble in a ziploc bag or snap apart with fingers..

My husband uses a very large bowl and pizza cutter to cut a lot of meat. He works in a meat department at a grocery store. Not sure if that would work with raw bacon..

Thanks everyone! The bacon has to be fried in the pan with the onions and butter to get the right flavor.
