Help best rooms at WLV + map

Any good rooms i should try and get at checkin - anyone have a map of the Villas ?

I haven't ever stayed in the VWL but here is a link for a map of the location of the room-types. I got this off the DIS once but cannot remember who created it.

whats the difference b/w a dedicated studio and a lockoff studio

A lockoff studio can be combined with a lockoff one-bedroom to create a two-bedroom unit. There's a door between them that can be opened for both the party in the studio and the party in the one-bedroom to go back and forth. Don't worry, it's locked from both sides.

A dedicated studio is just that, there's no connecting door to a one-bedroom.

If looking for a studio, try for 4531. This is a dedicated with a balcony and an extra little window looking towards the pool. You can also see the EWP from this point of view. We got to check it out thanks to magicalmcwho, a fellow DVCer, DISer and some really nice folks! Thanks Jim

If not, ask for 2531 or 3531. These are duplicate rooms, I think.

We have found that taking our chances with what room we get has worked out well so far. Our only request is NS for medical reasons. We have gotten views that we wouldnt have asked for, but turned out to be OK. And that includes both sides of the villas. The part of the villas we have never been in is the smaller section closer to the the bus stop/nearer the main lodge. Looking forward to giving them all a try

Dont stress too much over location and just flow with it.

are there any units that you can actually see the lake? Looking at the map they call it "woods view facing the lake" but wasn't sure if the visual was actually possible.

Here is a shot of the view of the lake through the trees. You can make out the nightly water parade fairly well and see the watercraft out on the lake but I don't think there are any really unobstructed lake views. I loved it, hope we get that side again!
