Leaving for Disney on the 6th of Oct and everyday is scheduled to be hot with 40% chance of rain or thunderstorms. Should i try and reschedule. We've been planning this trip for five years.
Anyone else have any experiance with this?

I wouldn't. We live several hours away and it seems to me like it rains all the time here, but actually many of the showers just come and go. Just today when we went for a walk this morning, it was partly cloudy, and we had rain during half of our walk. Just a light shower, and then it cleared up. You can always duck out of the way, or go in a show if it looks like it is going to rain.

Don't change your trip, there is always a chance of rain. Just pay attention to the weather and plan your schedule accordingly. Its actually kind of fun to run around disney in the rain. :umbrella: Chances are it won't rain the whole time you are there. Don't let the rain ruin your vacation!!!
Enjoy your trip!!!!

Thanks guys. Decided to change the date anyway. My kids HATE the heat and after waiting 5 years to go i didnt want to take any chances. :cool1:

We're also headed to Disney on Oct. 6. I saw that there were quite a few days with the possiblity of rain but we're not letting it get to us. Rain or shine, we'll be there. :)

We need the rain here in Orlando but even if it does rain you will be able to do lots. It doesn't rain all day and the parks clear out.

What did you change your date for Disney to?

We are from NY and are headed to Florida on October 5th.

Have a nice trip.

Kerri

our best time was a January day that poured cats and dogs....we purchased two cheap umbrellas and the disney ponchos and had a blast....no waiting in lines, it was great....ps bring extra shoes on your trip

We are leaving on Oct 6 also. I saw the 10 day forcast, but I don't care!!
This is our first trip to WDW and rain or shine...it's gonna be GREAT!!
Also, we are from Memphis, so the heat can't be that bad....can it??

:moped: ready to go!!

** Do not reschedule ** It has rain in the forecast every day!

We were there after Labor Day when a tropical storm was offshore Florida. They forecast 3-5" of rain and not one drop fell - at least on us :bounce:

Enjoy; we'll be there on the 16th...

We just back last week after a 6 day/6 night stay. It was hot and had rain in the forecast each day of 30 to 60% chance.

Only one day did we leave a park due to weather and that was Blizzard Beach. By the time we got back to the resort it cleared up and spent the afternoon in the pool.

It rained one night, after we were already back at the resort.

I must say though the crowds were almost no where to be found. Longest wait in MK, 6-8 minutes for the Indy cars and Dumbo. Everything else we practically walked right on. Other parks weren't much worse than that.

Don't cancel!

No matter when you go, the forecast is always the same in Florida:

"xx degrees, with 30/40/60% chance of rain"

If it does start to rain, chances are it will stop shortly!

:umbrella: ..... :sunny: ..... ;)

Forecast this week has chances of rain in the 70 to 80% range because of a tropical wave offshore.

leaving on the 6th too---it'll be fine. It rains all the time there. It never lasts

No! No! Do not cancel!!! showers or thundershowers is usually because its hot out.... Go enjoy, bring a poncho if needed... And pretend the rain drops are pixie dust :earsboy:

It rained every day when we were there in June. We were so excited we hardly noticed. Seriously. Pack your ponchos and weatherproof shoes and have fun. :umbrella:
