All,

We are on the May 8th Wonder cruise and was wondering if we could tour the Atlantis Resort by ourselves and if so what the cost might be? Has anyone done this? We don't care to use the pools we just want to tour the dig.......TIA

You can take a taxi to the Atlantis and walk around. Just act as if you are going to the casino or dining if you are approached, but if you are respectful of the guests that are staying there you will be fine!

We were there last week and you have to have a room key to get into the dig - there were three people checking. Also, later in the day they had people by the doors so you could not even walk out to the pool or the aquarium unless you had a wristband on.

You can do your own tour of the aquarium and surroundings (casino, shops) but not sure about the dig. Just take a cab. As you leave the dock you will be bombarded with package deals, just keep walking into the gift shop and there is a stand inside where you can get directions to a cab for $4.00 per person, (be sure to ask upfront) plus $1.00 for the toll and (gratuity as you see fit). You can also do your return trip by cab, (stand is just outside the hotel) but we chose to take the ferry back just for the sightseeing going back. It's just a short walk to the ferry dock from the casino. I think it was $6.00 pp and the ferries are sort of rickety, (just about sea worthy) but it was fun. Have a great cruise. :sunny:

They have NO problem letting you look around the Hotel and Casino for no fee...there is also a nice shopping area to brouse around...and a dinning area. You can pay admission to go through the dig...but be aware it's NOT cheep. If I remember correctly it was going to be close to $100 for our family of 4 to go through the dig...thats an average of $25pp. I think the acutal break down per person was a little diffrent being we had two adults and two children...but average it was going to be close to $100. :earseek: By going through the dig...you are able to roam some of the ground behind Atlantis...as you go from one lagoon to the next.

We just got back from the 04/14 Wonder. We had originally booked the Dolphin Encounter but it was cancelled as we didn't get into Nassau until 2:00pm. The kids (7 and 6) were extremely disappointed. Instead we did the Discover Atlantis excursion thru Disney ($33 per adult and $23 per child). We were taken by bus to the resort and given a 1 hour tour thru the dig and outside aquariums by an Atlantis rep. It was very informative and fortunately for us the kids loved it. At the end of the tour we were free to wander around. They had buses going back to the port every 1/2 hour up to a certain time and then you had to find your way back if you decided to stay longer or do something else.
