Does anyone know if there are people availible to assist with carrying trays or drinks at the resturants that are buffet style. Our son has dystonia and sometimes the tremors make him unable to carry his own trays. We have 3 other children that are younger that also need help so I was just curious if there was anyone just around to help if needed. I

For buffet they have servers that will bring the drinks talk to them about helping with the food either they will help you or they can get you someone. They also have cms at the buffet that are their to replenish and keep it clean they could also help if needed

your welcome when you check into the restaurant you could talk to them let them know and they will be glad to help. If you at the quick service they can help you carry your tray to your table to if you need.

If it's a place where you sit and are waited on first, i.e. Boma, you could simply ask your server.

Last year when at Disney my daughter was very young. I always carried her up to the buffet, and employees always asked if I needed help with my tray. As a past resturant worker I can tell you I would rather carry than clean.

I've had cms refuse to help carry the tray at quick service, I would not expect it.

You have to ask the right cm If they refuse then ask to speak to their supervisor then they will be more then happy to help you. I just saying what the op can do most I'd the quick service has enough cms to help if needed.

Often they refuse because they can't leave the counter. There is no need to "speak to a supervisor". If a cm is available, they will be glad to help- but if they can't they can't.

We have had this happen in World Showcase and Sunshine just recently. Sometimes CM's are in short supply.

i never said the cm would come around the counter and help i said ask them and they get you someone if they refuse to get you someone to help you then you should ask to speak to a supervisor. I know they can't come out around the counter and the cashiers can't leave their post but they have cms that are walking around cleaning that they can get to help you.

if the restaurant is short cms that is management problem and should never affect the guest experience at sunshine or any quick service restaurant. I always found them to be friendly and very helpful at sunshine. Their always a cm they can get to help you it might take a minute to get someone to help but they can.

That may be your experience. But as others have reported-there is not always a CM able to help.

I am not going to argue with you, just for sharing my experience.

i dont want to or like argueing with you your right that your experience and their might not be one but most of the time their is one. I guess since i go to sunshine in the morning when their more cms towards the front helping i might not be the same through out the day. All i was trying to let the op know is they could get help at quick service i should of made it more clear that the cms behind the counter can't leave their post but never said they would be the one that would help you.

please stay safe and hope hurricane isaac dose not come close to you.

but if help is scarce try to do the children in what I call shifts. One parent sits with all the kids at the table while the other parent takes each child one by one to get food. This is time consuming, but it would work.

Another idea would be to do two plates at a time on one tray; so, you could help two kids at a time. Again, one parent sits with the rest of the kids to keep them seated and still.

You can take turns at each place; so, no one child goes first all the time; rotate the kids for the meals.

I think it can go either way with getting help or not. Explains yourself to the host and it may help you.

Also, it may help to go at off times which means less busy times. There may be
more help available at non-prime times.

We have been offered assistance with carrying the tray when I have been alone with DD who uses a wheelchair.
There may be times when there is no one available, but most often the CM at the cash register/order station has offered to call someone for us.

And -no arguing.
People do have different experiences sometimes.
