Hi everyone,

I am wondering if there are computers to use at the BWV, or if I need to bring my own. I don't need to do a lot, but I will need to access at the end of the month to do a little banking/money transferring, and also to get my boarding passes.

I can check email on occasion, but it is not essential. In fact, I will put an outgoing message on my email at work telling everyone I am unavailable until my return date. I think that if I bring my computer, it will be TOO convenient to "just check my email for a second" and same with my DH (who has a blackberry anyway).

Does BW have a business center? If so, where is it and what are the hours?

Thanks!

I don't recall seeing any publicly-available computer terminals at the BoardWalk Conference Center. When I was at a conference there (several times 1999-2004), the conference organizer always had to set up their own publicly-available computer terminals.

We usualy bring a laptop to access email while on vacation. I have heard that the front desk will print out your boarding pass for you, but I haven't tried this myself.

I did not see any computers for public use, but I had my boarding passes printed up by the person at the front desk...this was in May.

Yes there are in fact PC's that you can use (for a fee). Simply enter the BW conference center from the parking lot, turn left and the business center (where you can also ship out your purchases) in on the left. Check their hours (I can't recall exactly), I think they're open 9 -5 7 days a week.

I have used a pc there several times over the past 3 years.

I have also use the PC at the Conference center. I used it to print Boarding passes. THere was no fee, but I did have to wait 10 minutes or so until one was available.

Did they help you choose your seats?

I just spoke to a nice lady at the BW Business center

They are open 8:30 to 4:30 7 days per week (this does not help you if you need to go online after midnight to get those boarding passes).

They have 2 computer terminals.

I am pretty sure she told me if I use her computer terminals, they are $10 for 15 minutes.

If I bring my own computer and bring it there, it is $5 for 15 minutes.

If I go wireless, it is $4.99 per hour or $9.99 for 24 hours. But you can only get wireless in designated areas (like the lobby etc). The $4.99 is charged when you are logged on, even if you are on for 10 minutes. If you log on again later in the day for another 10 minutes, you will be charged another $4.99.

If I want wired high speed in my room, it is $9.99 for 24 hours.

I think the best option is to bring your own computer, and use dial up in your room for the $.75 local call charge.

I am disappointed that Disney has structured this to be so prohibitively expensive when so many hotels provide high speed for free. Also, whenever I stay at a hotel outside of Disney, I usually use their conference center to pick my seats and print boarding passes. If I need to do a little online banking which takes all of 5 minutes, I do that too. I have never had a hotel charge me to do this. If the front desk will do it, that's great! :cheer2:

Now if they would only transfer money into my bank account! :cool1:

Yes at the Conference Center. They are in the back room at the help desk. They charge $10 for an hour. You can print what ever you want also. It depends on who's working. Sometimes they don't even charge. Ther times U can use it an long as U want. If U just need to jump on every now and then it's worth it not to having to lug your own around.....

CRSNDSNY,

No, we didn't need seat assignments. We had our seat assignments aleady, we just got checked in with our Boarding passes. We also did not have any checked luggage...only carryons. (A first for us!!! LOL )
