We are bringing 4 teens with us this summer, two 13 year olds and two 15 year olds. They are very picky eaters, so would they be allowed to order kids' meals at 50's prime time and whispering canyon cafe? Has anyone tried this? Were you charged more for these kids' meals because they were teens?THANKS!!!

When we checked in at 50's Prime Time last Nov/Dec they asked if anyone in our party was aged 9 and under (we had an 11 yr old with us) and they did not offer a kid's menu. I don't know if I had pushed if they would have given us one.

However, would the teens eat fried chicken? They have a nice chicken dinner which two could split between them - it comes with mashed potatoes and green beans.

I did not have a problem with this. Now, I was not on the dining plan so that may have made a difference. I'm not sure what they do if you are using the plan.

We have two of those same pickey teens as well and have not had any problems in the past. Our last trip -- summer, 2005, we had a 15 and 13 year old and the ordered right along with the 6 & 7 year olds. As long as it wasn't a buffet or all-you-can eat type deal they could order right off the kids menu. The servers never even blinked.

Here is how we handled it. We always let my 14-year old niece first look at the regular menu. If she didn't see anything that she liked, we then asked the server for a children's menu for her. This worked every single time at a Disney restaurant. We were refused a child's menu for her at the Western Sizzler off site. Go figure.

She usually ordered from the children's menu about half the time. Actually, come to think of it, my 72 year old Mom also order off the children's menu a couple of times that same trip! :sunny:
