these little things flying around??
I don't know how big fruit flys are, but these things look like tiny gnats...ugh... but they aren't gnats...too quick..

Buy some fly strips.

Also, put some water in a ziploc bag, fill about 1/2 full. Tie a knot in the bag, and hang them where those things are bad. It works for flies, I bet it'll work for whatever it is you have. This doesn't kill them, it scares them away.

Have you considered getting rid of the overripe fruit? Works for me

It could also be rotten potatoes....found mine last week YUCK!!!!

Found this on the internet last year. It works very well.

To get rid of fruit flies, fill a small bowl with red wine vinegar and a few drops of dish soap. I set it on my windowsill near the fruit, and the fruit flies are attracted to it and drown. I have had no more problems with fruit flies since I discovered this
