I'm planning a birthday trip for the second weekend in December. We will be eligible for either a FL resident discount or AP discount, but of course they haven't been released yet (if at all) for that time period. So, I gather I can book the room now and then call back when/if codes are released and have it applied to my reservation. Is this how it works? Or do I have to cancel my original and get a new one? We don't stay overnight much now that we are close, so I am not well-versed on booking a room!

Thanks,
Cindy :teeth:

Yes, you are correct in that you can apply it to your existing reservation. Just make sure that when you make your reservation that it is a room only reservation, not a room only package. Because if you get connected to WDTC, they may try to sell you a room only package. CRO will give you a room only reservation. The best way to know if you have a room only reservation is if they give you a five day cancellation policy and require you to put down a one night's deposit. That's the reservation you want. If you were to end up with a room only package, then you would have to cancel and make a new reservation.

Also, there is no guarantee that the FL resident / AP rate will be available for the nights of your trip, but if you call to apply it soon after they are released then you should be fine.

Thanks so much for the info. Now I just have to make my decision on where to stay!!

Pooh's Mom,
I've never had problems getting a room only rate. They've never tried to sell me a room only package. Maybe because I'm a FL resident. A little while back when you would tell them you were a FL resident you would be sent over to CRO. But now they all work together. I have a ressie for Sept and I am waiting for codes. When I made the reservation they said to just keep checking back. One CM told me have your reservation number ready as it will make applying the code easier and faster. As OP said just make sure about the 5 day cancellation. But I know you will not have any problems. Deposit should be about $87. Last year they had FL rates for that time of the year but I couldn't get it for PC because I was there for grand opening. The first time I paid rack rate in a looonngg time. LOL But worth the price.

We will also be there in December. Finally BF can get a vacation then. His first trip back to Disney since the 70's. We watches our home movies to see what he wants to ride. Just trying to get him to realize you can't jump off Splash Mountain then go right onto Test Track. DD18 can't wait. She loves going to Disney with Newbies. Her favorite is making people think the first big climb on Splash Mountain is going to be a drop.
I don't care how much they beg I am not going on ToT. 4 times was enough.

Don't worry making the reservation is easy. I do it at least 4 times a year.
Shirley

407-939-1288 is FL residents Disney number.

Thanks Shirley!

That's the trade-off with being so close, we go alot but only for special occasions can I talk DH into staying for a long weekend. I miss the excitment of being surrounded by Disney 24 hours for a few days! We've only stayed one other time since moving here and the codes were already out when I made the reservations.

I hope you have a great trip and can show your BF a good time!! I love showing my family around! Are you sure you don't want to do ToT again? I love it!!! ;)

Thanks,
Cindy :teeth:
