I currently have a Kodak Easyshare Z650. I know most people probably don't like Kodak cameras, but it has been a great camera overall. It's about 2-3 years old and I am looking to upgrade a little. It has a 10X optical zoom and only 6.1 megapixels. It doesn't take the greatest shots at night.

For $ purposes, I would like to stay with a point and shoot. I would like something that takes crisp, clear photos, can zoom in and stabalize the photo, and can take crisp, clear night photos. Any help, suggestions, or advice on a new camera is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Finding everything you are looking for in a point and shoot may be difficult. Some expectations may need to be refocused so to speak.

Here's a look at some recent threads that might help understand the dilemma:

Getting decent shots at night (stationary objects) can be enhanced by a tripod and long shutter speeds or by using a high resolution technique. Getting decent shots at night of movement is difficult, as the two threads above discuss.

I have the Kodak Z650 and absolutely love it. I recently updated to a Canon Digital Rebel (300D) but kept the Kodak as a backup. It can take good night shots but you'll need a tripod which you will find you'd need for most P&S cameras and even DSLR's.
