Help!! Alamo Crazy prices

Looking into using the Public transpo, ME, and maybe even a towncar for the trip to PC for the cruise or the Disney Bus. But i was told today that we will need to get a cab and make our way over to the AK, which that is going to cost even more.

Does anyone know the average cost of a cab from the All Star Music to the AK?

Just keep searching I guess :surfweb:

Here's a link to a map of Disney property, it looks like All Star Sports is close to AK, so the fare would not be too much.

I have a mini van rental from dollar for a week at 180.00 unlimited. I reserved this in feb and got the code from mousesavers.

S's mom - i am assuming you are saying you need the cab from ASMusic to AK because you are switching resorts in the middle of your stay. if that is the case, certainly do your cab planning (collect info about cab services to call, their phone numbers, estimates on how much it might cost you....) but also try this. Disney does not have to, but they sometimes will transport you.

Case in point, while checking out of the ASSports on my way to check in at the POR, i asked at the desk about transportation to POR. bus? cab? some other disney means? the front desk attendant asked how many in our party and if we were in a hurry....no, just wondering what we should do. she then excused herself, went back talked to a manager, manager comes out and says to be at the curb in 15 min with all our stuff. they sent a WDW van and a driver to transport us. (we tipped the heck out of that guy....probably not supposed to do that, but we really appreciated him doing it and he was so darn nice about it too!!!) they don't HAVE to do this, but it never hurts to ask. (they only can/will do it if they have a van, an available employee who isn't busy with something else.)

here's hoping you get lucky. if not, you will have your cab plan to fall back on.

I'd like to use Alamo for our trip in January (16-25) but we are flying in and out of Tampa and the rental prices are high and it's not just for Alamo. It appears that for some reason TPA rental cars are more money.

We need to rent a mini van or Large SUV as I have 3 kids in car seats.
We are going to Sarasota to visit my MIL for a few days first before we go to Disney.

I use the Costco code it will cost $652.70 for a minivan if I pick up and drop off at TPA.

I just figured out that if I make a reservation to rent a minivan for 1 day in TPA and return it to SRQ airport the next day and then make a reservation to rent a minivan from SRA airport and return to TPA for the rest of the trip it will cost $481.28. The rental rates are alot cheaper out of SRQ airport. My MIL does not live that far from the airport. If prices just don't come down I might just have to do that. Run up to the airport and turn in one minvan and get another minivan (which I'm assuming they would just give me the same minivan van that I have). And the rate of $481.28 is for a drop off at TPA.

I'm assuming S'sMom needs to get from All Star to AKL to take DCL transfers to the port. A car service should cost less then DCL transfers for a family of 4, probably a little more for 3 pax, when you include tip.

If you're looking to save a few dollars take book a car service for a MCO pickup and take DME to MCO.

Lori, you are awesome with the info. :thumbsup2 You are right it does not hurt to ask. Lewis what a great tip as well, definately worth looking into. :) Thank you to everyone :wizard:

Today, I tried the rental car places again using vacationoutlet, and I did find the Budget. The catch, if we do the car we will have to take the ME to the hotel from the airport then have them pick us up and take us to the Double Tree in DTD to get the car and then keep it the week and return it to MCO. I reserved it incase nothing else comes. The cost was 333.68 after taxes. Not as bad but not that great. I reserved but I will still need to find the transpo to the port.

I got a quote from a car comp any they are offering roundtrip from hotel to port for $260 and if i reserve i will get an upgrade to the limo from the sedan.

What are your thoughts? :confused3
