How long are you staying? Would you consider doing a split stay - that way you get the best of both resorts, and get 2 different experiences. Disney transfers all your luggage for you, so the downside is only that you have to pack everything up the night before the move. We find that the benefit of having 2 different resort experiences outweighs the disadvantage of packing up mid-stay.
I haven't stayed at WL but have visited it a few times for meals & just to walk around. Honestly it does nothing for me, and our non-WDW trips are often camping, so I thought it would appeal to us. I would consider staying there in the future, but AKL & BC are our absolute hands down favorites. The boat to MK however would be a plus for you with 3 kids.
AKL & BC are total opposites in terms of theming & decor, that might actually be a great split stay to try. AKL is a mini-park in itself in my opinion, there's so much to do there, so much to see. We go there even if we're not staying there (Boma is our favorite restaraunt), and can easily spend 1-2 hours just meandering the resort. I love love love the theming & the animals. If any of your kids are into animals, this would be a definite hit. Yes you have to bus to all 4 parks but I've never had any issues with the buses from there. It's nice to come back to the serenity of AKL after a long day in the parks.
BC is more hustle & bustle, bright & airy & the pool area, SAB, cannot be beat. The location is also perfect - you are literally a few steps from Epcot, and about 15-20 min. walk from DHS. There is also boat service to both if you don't want to walk. The kids would love the entertainers on The Boardwalk at night. Tons of dining options there between BC, YC, BW, Swan, Dolphin, Epcot & DHS.
Good luck whatever you choose!
