Help! Airtran $79 vs. SWA probably $129???

SWA seems to be putting out it's lowest fare in December as $129 (Chicago to Orlando). It'll probably be at least 4 weeks before dates we need are even released. :sad1:

Airtran has our outbound date at $79, right now. The time is worse (7:30 a.m.), but at least it's nonstop. Airtran's return date price is too high!

Would you book one way on airtran at this lower rate (will potentially save us $200) and wait for SWA for the return on 12/29? Or should we just hold out?

Complicating things is the fact that I've read very good things on the disABILITIES board about SWA's treatment of travelers with mobility issues, handling/transport of personal equipment, etc., so I was sort of looking forward to flying with them. But our date is not flexible--what if the fares SWA releases for 12/16 are even more than $129???

What should I do? Please advise me!

Tough call. I would have no issue buying a one way now and getting the other one way later, even on another airline. I booked some friends on Airtran to MCO and Sun Country back to MSP and all went fine.

If you like the $79 price and don't mind flying Airtran, then maybe grab the flight. If you are flying down on Dec 16, can I guess you are flying back some time after Christmas or early Jan.? If so, you flight is going to be higher.......
