Any airfare experts out there - why are the fares so high - I checked to fly USAir out of Pgh. on a Wedne. evening end of Feb. & to come back on that Sunday evening - almost $400. That doesn't seem to be high season yet???? Anyone know if they'll come down after the holiday?

When I started looking for airfare from Detroit to Orlando, we were in the 250+ range. On Christmas Eve I found $198 on Spirit non-stop. We always fly them, but were open to anything cheaper. We were able to get the same good flight times and even got an extra day out of it. So, from 2/24-3/5 we (fam of 4) spent $794. I was pretty happy with that. Go a week later and you are past $250 each ticket.

I booked DS's and my air fare for 4-3-03 to 4-10-03 yesterday. When I realized that was the week before Easter I decided I couldn't wait for air fare to come down! I'm flying AirTran with a layover in Atlanta. Going down I'm paying $122 pp, coming back $177 pp. If Easter Sunday wasn't on the 11th, I would be driving. These rates are terrible, but what are ya gonna do?:( July our round-trip trip to WDW and back was $440!
