My husband and I were planning to take our 2 kids, Son (6) and Daughter (5) to Disney world in 2009 but with work schedules we are limited to taking them anytime between August 27th and Oct. 3rd THIS YEAR!!

Am I too late to get some good rates and also we absolutely want to do a character dining with Cinderella. Is is possible?

I am feeling completely overwhelmed on where to start and would love any advice anyone can offer us. We want to stay on site at either a resort or the Swan or Dolphin. Please help and direct me in where to begin.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!:worship:

Well you just missed out on the free dining that ended on June 22.

I would look at October as most of the restaurants are already booked with the free dining.

Thank you for your reply. I did realize that unfortunately we did miss out on the free dining and I am bummed about that.

I would love to go in October but my job won't allow me to take vacation from Oct. 4th through the end of the year so that only leaves us with End of August through Beginning of OCT.

Please let me know any advice on getting the best deals as well as how to book a CRT meal? Thanks

Two times I have called CRT and asked them to look for anything for breakfast or lunch. Both times they have found me something. Once was a late breakfast and once was a late lunch. It never hurts to call.

The other options are 1900 Park Faire with Cinderella or Norway's princess meals.

With the resort, I would just list your order of preference and start seeing what is available. If Swan and Dolphin are not on free dining, that might be a good bet.

If you have AAA, you might get a discount. I think there are only so many rooms available for discount.

Good luck!

Don't give up hope on CRT :) Last time we were there, on Tuesday I was able to book breakfast at CRT for Thursday! You never know! Hope you have a blast.

Thank you all for your replies. I will keep trying for CRT and think my first priority is to find a place to stay. Do you have any recommedations for using a travel agent as I feel a little overwhelmed with all the options.
I'm not sure if I should do the dining option, what packages are good to choose etc?

Is there any advantage to staying in one of the value or moderate resorts versus the Dolphin? I am a nurse and found a $129 room rate at the Dolphin of which my husband and I have stayed before but never with the kids. Any reason to look at a value or moderate resort instead?

Thanks so much for all your help.

Thanks for the reply. I have found rooms available for both Port Orleans resorts as well as Pop Century and Animal Kingdom Lodge. What would be the best for young kids as well as best location? Thanks.

we love animal kingdom. It has great theming, restaurants and is fun for kids. They also have a kids club where you can drop of the kids and have a night out with your husband.

i am using dreams unlimited for travel they book every thing but my air and rental car/ they even made all my dining ressies. they are great.

Thank you. I just got a quote from Dreams Unlimited. The only question I have is that I am very flexible on my dates Aug. 29th-Oct. 4th and am not set on where to stay. Is there any travel agents that I could talk with to get opinions on what the best dates would be for the value as well as where to stay?
Still confused as I think Pop Century looks great to stay at but since the only place I've ever stayed is WDW Dolphin will I be dissapointed with Pop Century?

Want to get this trip booked ASAP but need to find a GOOD travel agent to help..
Thanks to all who've helped. Any other advice???
