Help a newbie that is clueless about how points work

We have April Use year. We have a trip booked in July so that leaves us 128 points for 2019 UY (We had 2018 points).

We want to book a trip second trip for December 2019 the week prior to Christmas. According to my research the 7 nights we want to stay is 150 points.

1. Hubby is not interested in adding on more points at this time which is actually my suggestion/solution
2. Not willing to stay anything but lake view for the trip and really don't want to do a room switch

How do I get the points needed for that entire trip?

Do you get me? I have trouble understanding this whole thing.

So if I understand...you have 128 Points in your April 2019 UY.

If that's correct, you can borrow 22 points from your 2020 UY for your December 2019 trip.

For your July trip - you are using some banked points (2018) and current points (2019)? How many points total do you have (get each April UY & which resort?

Regardless. If you have 128 points left in your April 2019 UY and need 150 for December 2019, you can borrow points balance of points needed from your 2020 April UY. You can also buy some points fro DVC - I think $19 per point - but you can only do this when your 7 month window opens up. Because you are looking to book a very busy time of the year, I would just borrow and book my whole reservation as soon as your 11 month window opens up.

Thanks all! I thought that borrowing was my best option. Since we are going twice this year we are good with borrowing in 2020 plus I think my husband will want to add on by then
