Taking a trip 1/24-1/26/2013. 4 adults, no kids. Would love to stay in a quality hotel, $200 or less per night. (Trying to talk hub into DLH but at $304/night he's not budging. Yet...LOL)

Must haves:
Internet
Full breakfast
Walking distance (10 minutes or less) to parks
At least 2 queen beds

Would love to have:
Free parking

I am having the darndest time finding a hotel!! I guess there is some convention going on? Usually we stay 10 minutes away in our favorite getaway hotel and just drive in but I'd like us to maximize our time better since we will only be there a few days. On Harbor we've stayed at Desert Inn and Suites and Anaheim Plaza Hotel and we'd like to skip those this time around. Haven't stayed on Harbor in over 6 years so totally at a loss! Don't need a pool, I don't think any of us are going to want to do that. Would appreciate any and all help!

There are probably some a bit closer, but I'll offer the RI Maingate. Maybe a bit more than 10 minutes, but no more than 15min from the gates. It has a full hot breakfast, two or more queens depending on the room type you book and internet too. I think rooms are around the $200 mark. Parking is included too.

The NAMM convention is on from the 24th-27th January so that's probably why you're experiencing difficulty.

If you can be flexible on the full breakfast, try the Candy Cane Inn. The premium rooms have continental breakfast delivered to your room and there is a microwave and frig in the room. That would allow you to keep some breakfast items in your frig to heat up with your breakfast each day. The rooms are clean, staff is wonderful, private shuttle runs on time, and walking distance is less than 10 minutes. There are various discounts (AAA for one) and they give you a discount to use when you return.

I think your best bet is the Candy Cane Inn, I can't remember if they charge for parking though.
A bit farther down would be Red Lion, they have a great full breakfast (2 free per room) but you'd have to either drive or walk to the Toy Story lot to take a shuttle. We did that with no problems though.

Ditto on what the others said. Candy Cane Inn sounds like it meets most of your criteria (yes parking is free). The breakfast is more of a nice continental breakfast (they aren't going to scramble you eggs or make you an omelet).

The Red Lion includes breakfast with certain bookings/packages, but it is not automatically included. We just stayed there a few months ago and did not have breakfast included.

I don't know if this promo is good for your dates but the Red Lion has a Cars Land Rate for $99.00 a night. Includes full hot breakfast and free parking.:cool1: It is a nice hotel.

Ramada Inn Maingate, Best Western Park Place Inn and Best Western Anaheim Inn, and the Red Lion and the Candy Cane Inn are all unavailable. Sigh.

Doesn't seem like anything on Harbor is available. Might have to stick with our favorite hotel and just endure paying for parking and driving to and from park.

Get Away Today has two hotels available within walking distance for your dates. Hojo and Camelot. The total for both nights, Hojo is under $275, but you'll have to find breakfast somewhere else. Camelot is under $350 after taking into consideration parking and internet fees.

GAT is less than if you book directly through the hotel.

The Sheraton Anaheim Hotel is a nice hotel with a free shuttle that is about $190 per night, nice amenities and service. I haven't stayed at this property but the others in the area (and the whole chain) are quite nice.

We like the Sheraton Anaheim and stay there regularly. But the lowest rates don't come with breakfast, the parking isn't free, and they charge an internet fee for non-SPG members (internet might be free only for elite members). That said, the rooms are spacious (for the Anaheim Resort area -- but be warned: the bathrooms are small), there is a frig in the room (and a coffee maker) -- so we usually have pastries and instant oatmeal for breakfast, and the shuttle runs on time.

I went to GetAwayToday.com and put in my dates and clicked on the Anaheim HoJo (great price, REALLY want to stay here!) and I get a pop-up that the hotel isn't available for one of my dates. So why would it show it to me? That's lame. I've never booked through an agency before and now I remember why.

:-(

Yesterday when I went in there and put your dates HOJOs was available, but today it is gone! Sorry! I can't even see it anymore.

edit: Oh yes, someone definitely booked it between the time I looked and the time you looked. It still shows in my cart, but a warning popped up that it is no longer available.

Camelot is still there though. And you could still book from HOJOs directly if you want, but it's over $100 more :(

In defense of GAT, I've booked through them, LMT, Costco, and a few on my own. GAT has always worked well for me, as long as you factor in the "Peace of Mind" cost. I would never book anything if I couldn't cancel it or change it.

It showed me the price for 2 nights at the HoJo and the price was great! Then I clicked on it and it said not available for one of my days. Waaah! No sorries necessary, I appreciate the out of the box thinking sooooo much, thank you!

:goodvibesIf I were you, I would book the hotel that is your old favorite (if you could cancel later if necessary) OR book the Camelot with GAT/Peace of mind. Then keep your radar open for deals in the meantime. Then as 1/24 approaches, look for a cancellation at other close Harbor hotels, because it will happen as NAMM plans fall through (and people firm up their own plans) AND finally check LMT around the final week if you still are not happy with any of the above. Worst case scenario, you end up at your old favorite or Camelot.

Of course you may want to make a decision today and not think about again until you pull into your hotel!:yay:
