Hell's Kitchen - Season 4 Official Thread

We thought Christina deserved to win, we picked her after watching both services. Petrozza is a nice guy but NOT leadership material since he gets frazzled too easily. He did not have a tight plan for his restaurant at all, and he ran out of 2/3 apps, which is just crazy! He also didn't know what to do about it, and one of his crew had to suggest something. I think Chef Ramsay made the right choice and she will be a really good Executive Chef with some training! Congrats Christina! :goodvibes

Little bit disappointed. I hope all will go well for Petrozza, he deserves a good opportunity. Christina? I'm not sure she's ready, but oh, well.

I just found this thread now! This is the first season I've watched Hell's Kitchen and I loved it and I LOVE Chef Ramsay. I was dissappointed in the outcome. I think that Petrozza had the better service and had more control over his staff. He's the complete opposite of Ramsay, though. I couldn't picture him really freaking out on anyone! Christina was consistently good throughout the show, winning challenges and doing a good job overall. I, personally, think her age had a lot to do with it. I was sad for Petrozza. :sad1:

I thought the better candidate won. Personally I didn't think either of those two were the best of that sorry bunch.

I was disappointed that Petrozza didn't win, but Chef Ramsey said she was the one that he thought he would be able to "groom" for the job. I wonder if he picked her partly because she's young and he can teach her the way he wants instead of having someone older that is already set in their ways.

Jen and Matt were a disgrace last night. I know it's all for show and their last minutes of "fame" but it was to the point where it wasn't even funny.

The worst part of the whole show is the "swearing". I am not a prude, but all of these reality shows (including AI) have F words thrown all over the place. What happened to showing at least a little class! Could not stand Jen or Matt......I would have fired them SO fast! I kinda wish Petrozza won, but Christine is someone Chef can work with and kinda mold into what he needs. I thought she would win, but I feel bad for Petrozza.

I was kind of surprised that Christina won because of her lack of experience but maybe that's exactly why she won. I think that Ramsey knows a whole lot more about this than me so congratulations to Christina. I'm sure that Petrozza will do fine too.

I think Petrozza will have job offers coming out of his ears - he'll be *fine*. Most of the rest of this bunch will wallow around in the semi-celebrity world & then fade into obscurity.

These people, when they do their sotto-voce confessionals to the Hell's Kitchen camera...do they THINK at all?!? Those straight-to-the-camera monologues might be full of private thoughts, but prospective employers see the back-stabbing, the whining, the blame-shifting, the out-of-control ego coupled with absurdly high self-esteem.

Yeah, you can just be an egotistical SOB and have a restaurant, but being a jerk doesn't guarantee success. At some level you have GOT to care about people and care about perfecting your craft The Ramsay BBC shows that I've seen show a different side - there's always has a point and not just a bunch of ranting & raving & cursing for effect. He's a craftsman and an artist and (usually) a smart businessman who really *cares* about the product. He also seems to care about people, wanting folks to come out of bad kitchen/business situations as winners. It's true, the man has no patience for fools of any type, but on some of those BBC Kitchen Nightmares shows, he can be very kind and thoughtful.

Gack, there are very few from this HK season that I would hire to run a restaurant/kitchen. I think this year's Top Chef contestants are better-qualified. Even the TC folks I didn't especially like that much, I had a higher regard for their kitchen-skills.

agnes!

This was the WORST bunch of contestants ever on Hell's Kitchen. I didn't really like any of them and didn't care who won but I really thought Petrozza would win over Christina because of her limited experience, guess I was wrong.

I love this show and hope next season there is a better bunch of contestants.

Also, I couldn't believe the nerve of Jen to ask for a letter or recommendation. :rotfl:

I thought this from the first show...... Where did they pick these contestants and how did most of them even qualify to be on this show??? I'm guessing they were picked because it adds controversy, but most of these contestants were way over the line - Matt, Jen, etc....... :confused3

It never occured to me that Gordon would see Petrozza's age as a negative. I guess I should have thought of that. After his decision last night, he said he was looking at long term and made a comment about Christina being young.

When my DH saw the final two candidates last night, he said "He'll pick the young one. If you haven't made your mark as a chef by the time you're in your late 40's, then you aren't going to. Of all people, Gordon Ramsey is going to know that!" I hate it when DH is right ! ;)

No kidding. This is my first year watching it, but some of those contestants looked like they'd fit in more working at McDonald's. Not that there's anything wrong with McD's. I love their french fries.

Just read in the NY Post that season 5 has already been filmed and will premiere in early 2009.

I'm guessing they'll take some time off for summer, air Kitchen Nightmares, take a little more time for the holidays then Hell's Kitchen 5.:cool1:

Article said this season was the highest rated (the reason for all the "wacky: contestants??) and was up something like 26% in the adult 18-45 (or thereabouts) age group. Just want the advertisers want!

Kitchen Nightmares is a riot, and scary:rotfl: . Makes you wonder when you go out to eat.
I started watching last year. Last year I was super happy when Rock won. This year, it took me forever to pick someone. I thought they were all horrible. At the end I was pulling for Petrozza. There was just somethign about Christina. She drove me nuts. I had a feeling she would win thought when she started winning all those challenges.
I cant cook for a darn, so good for her i guess.
Jen and Matt... OMG:eek: can you imagine working with these 2?

Did anyone else think that maybe Matt & Jen were "plants"? I mean - that they were asked back and were told be their most outrageous? I mean, Jen was just still so full of herself. No one is really that egotistical, are they?

I was happy that Cristina won. Petrozza was just a mess! - in so many ways.

Petrozza was a mess :lmao: . I would love it when Ramsey would call him a filthy pig. Matt sweating into the food was a bit more messy though LOL!

Jen and Matt were just way too out of this world. I left the room for a minute last night, but I could swear that i heard Jen ask Ramsey for a job reference.... really???:rotfl2:

you may be on to somethign with the plants idea.

I've thought about the winner for a little bit now (yes, I have alot of time on my hands :rotfl: ) but I can see why Ramsey picked Christina. Even though she doesn't have alot of experience, he can mold her into what he wants.

As for Matt and Jen, they had to be plants. I know you have to be confident but come on. Jen was egotistical to the point of being scary. She couldn't bring out the best in people if her life depended on it. She didn't deserve to be in the final and she totally proved she is not a team player at all.

And Matt, he just scared me. :scared1:

LovinPooh-Jen did ask for a recommendation from Chef Ramsey. If that was me, she wouldn't be getting a good recommendation.

Cant you just see his recommendation:

Do not hire this crazy donkey!

Wow, that woman has some guts.
:lmao:

Matt... words just cant exspress that guy.

I think Corey will do good as well. She was a great cook. Just seemed to crack a little under pressure towards the end.

Cant you just see his recommendation:

Do not hire this crazy donkey!

Except Chef Ramsey's words would be "Do not hire this "BLEEP, BLEEP, BLEEP, CRAZY BLEEP!" :lmao:

I think Cory did good too. And at least in the final episode she tried to help her team win. She was busting but out there.

I wanted Petrozza to win but I don't feel bad for that he didn't. He'll get some good offers just because he made it as far as he did.
