I hate all the confusion about the sorbet at ADH too! I told joe if we can't have it for everyone at least me and df are having them and he agreed lol

Well I think that's fair! I want my little glass slipper ice sculpture! heh

Is the sorbet that important that you are willing to change the venue?

I know it sounds really pathetic, but Sorbet is one of the reasons I wanted a Disney wedding. It probably won't be enough of a reason for me to change the venue, but I just wish Disney would either let us all have it or let none of us have it.

i am having my reception at lss and am also having a buffet and was told that a sorbet is a bad idea because the food is already set out when your guests enter your room, so they won't even think abut eatin the sorbet, there is no "grand sorbet entrance" because they don't sit to await their meal for a buffet like you do for a sit down meal...hth, i just got the email from my planner today!

generally the wording of the invitation is dictated by whoever is paying for it, so if your parents are paying, their names are addressed, as in your example, if you and your fiance are paying for it, then you guys are addressed, etc...both sound great though, and i actually saw those invitations in a hallmark store and thought they were lovely!

Hmmm.. I never thought about the lack of a grand entrance. I still haven't convinced my parents that it's OK not to have a sit down dinner, but I think my site visit mind change their mind. I also never knew about the invitation wording, but it makes so much sense. It also helps me get my choice...

I also like the one BM dress you picked out that isn't strapless. In the word's of Mean Girls "I have man shoulders".

Like Caryn said, the people paying for the wedding are usually the ones listed on the invitation, so they may not like just you and your DF's names on there. Ask your parents though... they may surprise you!

My future in laws arent paying a dime for our wedding... they can totally afford to, they just choose not to. Anyways, my parents INSISTED on having both sets of parents on the invite, regardless of who was paying. FIL's got their invites and didnt say anything about it... not to thank me, or ask why they were included when they werent paying

My future in laws aren't paying a dime either, they haven't offered, we aren't planning on asking and they know that my parents are paying for everything. My mother/FMIL are on the phone with each other almost everyday, so when I broached the subject on the invitations, she my mother insisted that my future in laws be included on the invitationsa. My DF doesn't even want them on the invites because all they've done is criticize everything about the wedding, while adding to the guest list at a record pace.

Insert mini FMIL vent: I really want to keep my guest count under 150. ADH can't have more than 175 so 150 is what I want to keep it comfortable. EVERYDAY this week she's been calling DF telling him names of people we need to invite. His primary school principal?! His second cousin's ex-wife?! I've never met these people! I doubt they are going to want to fly across from England to come to my wedding, but she insists that if we invite them, they will come.

Now returning to your regularly scheduled PJ :

Like a lot of girls, I’ve envisioned my wedding day since forever. I never thought that when I got to it I’d draw a complete blank. My mom will call me and ask me what I’ve gotten done and I’ll just have nothing to say…. I think things will start falling into place eventually, I just feel like I was more prepared before I got engaged and actually started planning…

I’m having a really hard time choosing my wedding colors. I’m getting married the day before Valentine’s Day, but I really don’t want a red and white wedding. I’m also getting married on Friday the 13th (yeah, it’s kind of weird, but we’re not superstitious people) and I’m vetoing my dad’s *suggestion( (which he says was a joke) of having my DF wear a Jason mask. My bridesmaids are being angels and they look good in so many different colors I’m having a hard time basing it off of that. My favorite color is pink, so I was thinking rose/periwinkle/chocolate? I’ll have my bridesmaids in chocolate with my MOH in light pink or baby blue…
We did pick the bridemaids dress.. it’s Bill Levkoff #800…

It turns out the first thing we are able to book is our honeymoon dance3: ), so we booked that today. We’re going on a 14 day safari in Tanzania, which has always been one of my dreams. Fortunately, DF shares this dream with me and we’re going to make it a reality! We leave the US on the 21st of February, and arrive in Tanzania the next night. Our safari goes until March 7th, and the morning we leave (March 8th) we’re doing a balloon ride over the Serengeti Plain. These are just pictures from the website but I thought they were cool

WOW! What an adventurous Honeymoon! How exciting for you and your DF! I never even thought of doing something like that. I know a cruise is kinda typical and cliche, but neither DF or I have ever been on one, so that was my pick. That or Hawaii. So cruise here we come.

My diet's going well... I've lost 10lbs since the beginning of November. It's been a little off track because of the holidays but hopefully I get back right on track after tomorrow night.
