I have finally decided it is time to join all the Dis'ers! I have been, for quite a few years, reading the threads and getting useful info for my previous 4 trips to the "Happiest Place on Earth!"

I have to admit, I am a Disney addict! My first trip ever was in 2006 with Free Dining in September. It was the best trip - nobody had really heard of the free dining promo yet - the parks were pretty much empty. We stayed at Pop.

We then went back in Sept 2007 for free dining and stayed at All Star Movies. It was quite busy as everyone had heard about Free Dining.

We missed 2008 but were back in Feb. 2009 - during the Mardi Gras celebrations - bad planning on my part as it was extremely busy! We did stay at Wilderness Lodge - that is our favourite trip as we just loved Wilderness and will be planning another trip back there soon - hopefully!

We did go back at the end of August 2009 with Free Dining again - it was good. It was busy and hot - of course - we also drove from Hamilton, ON, Canada - the drive was good - it was myself, DH, DD 3, DS 14 and his friend 15. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. The resort was gorgeous, but very big. We probably won't stay there again.

I would just like to say how much I love checking in on the DIS boards every so often and would like to say thanks for all the wonderful info you have to offer everyone who is interested/addicted with traveling to Disney World! I look forward to many years of posts and trips with the help of DIS!

Welcome!

It never even occured to me that they would celebrate mardi gras in Disney! That must have been a lot of fun, I'll have to look into that now!

It was quite busy - there were a lot of people, but we still had a good time - we used Fast Pass for sure! There wasn't much in the way of a celebration for Mardi Gras via Disney, but I am sure they had something going on - we were just happy to be there!!!
