I am a planning maniac. This is my favorite thing about my trips to Disney. The haunted mansion is number two. Dh thinks I am planning too far ahead, but we leave in 10 weeks and I still have tons to get. I am a listaholic too. i admit it. Nothing makes me happier than sitting down with a pretty glittery inked pen and fresh new notebook and making my lists. One for what to put in my box to ship, one for suitcases, one for what i still need to buy. My husband may shake his head when he sees me looking on the boards for more things I may need, but I no longer care.

10 weeks left to plan and counting

My name's Elisa and I am a planner too.

On our family trip in August, my DM got into the habit of asking me every morning to see our itinerary, along with the names of the restaurants we'd be eating in, with their menus, because I had it all printed out and in a 3-ring binder. She thought I was crazy, but we had an excellent trip, with minimal waiting on lines, and lots of fun!! And yes, I even had our downtime scheduled!! :confused3

Have fun planning!! I'm working on planning my 40th birthday trip (adults only) right now and then in just a few months, I'll start working on the 2008 family trip!!

oh 3 ring binders. I love the person who invented them. They have a special place in my heart forever and ever.

I have scary amounts of 3 ring binders - between the PTA and the boys' school papers, sometimes I scare myself, but I can almost always find what I'm looking for!! :lmao:

I'm a list-maker, too! And shopping for office supply type stuff makes me giddy.

HA!! I LOVE this thread!!:rotfl: I am such a listaholic and I too enjoy office supplies! I love journals, and pens, and sticky notes, and 3 ring binders, and calendars....stop me! People think I'm nuts, but I love to make a list and cross it off! How funny...I thought I was all alone! Good to know there are others with the same "sickness"!:thumbsup2 Planning this first Disney trip with the kids has made me SO happy...going makes me happy too, but planning is just as much fun! Now, stop sitting there and go cross something off that list!

My name is Kim and I am a planner, I do it in the morning before work (just to get me through the day), I do it after work, and I sneak up at night when everyone is in bed and do it alone!!! I know the first step is to admit you have a problem. (I need help!!!!) or just more vacations!!!

How old are the boys for your first trip to Disney?? We took our 3 boys to Disney for the first time in August 2005 at the ages of 3 (he turned 4 on the trip), 6 and 8. They loved it!!

I don't have much to check off my list right now. DH and I don't have too much to plan for our Sept. trip (except ADRs, by the end of next week) and there's nothing to do for the next family trip - at least not right now!

Oh, I just noticed you're in Rochester!! That's actually where DH is right now for a conference and I was there in November for a PTA conference. I didn't get to see much of the city - the weather wasn't very nice!

My boys are 6, 9, and 12 and are SO EXCITED! I can't wait to see them enjoy Disney magic for the first time! :yay: My DH and I went for our honeymoon 15 years ago, but I'm sure so much has changed. It's our first time staying onsite too, so needless to say we are all stoked!

I'm not really surprised the weather wasn't nice when you were here in November...it's not usually nice from October through May! I moved here after we got married in 1992 and it took a while, but it's home. My husband has very deep roots here so my choices were limited!

I'm so glad I found this board. I've gotten so many helpful tips and I wouldn't have even known I had to make ADRs for the DDP. :scared1: I've been shopping for our over the door shoe organizer, rain ponchos, misting fans, pop-up hamper and lots of other goodies. I am so in my element when I am planning something! :flower3:

Those sound like great ages to take your boys. I struggled a little bit about whether DS #3 AKA the Pickle was too young to take to Disney (in 2005), but we took him and it was OK. It was even better when we went last summer because he enjoyed much more of the trip. He wants to know why we're not going this August to celebrate his next birthday, but we won't be going in August again, so he'll have to deal!

Yeah, I didn't get out beyond the convention center when I was in Rochester. Although there was a SciFi Book convention there at the same time as the PTA Convention and I did get my picture taken with Chewbacca. But I hear that the Dinosaur BBQ is great and DH had dinner there last night!

Hey my name is Tanya.. too and my Husband just told me I was overly addicted to everything disney. He said that I live for disney..:rotfl:

I secretly have started packing for August trip how crazy is that. I have made all my ressies and printed travel reports for everyone going. I am driving everyone crazy. I may need to seek counsel..:headache: My husband doesnt want to go to disney this year because he doesnt like to "follow a schedule on vacation" I am kinda glad he is staying home more disney for me:love:

I almost forgot to add I just got a pair of Disney crocs for each one of the kids, a lime green baggalini, and paint cheaps from home depot. HE IS REALLY CONFUSED:thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Hello my name is Alisa and I am a planner too. We don't even know when we are going and this is always they way it's starts. "Let's go for Columbus weekend, maybe at the Poly. No lets take the kid out of school and go for a week and camp! Why don't we just go the last week of August, drive and stay off site? Hey we could stay for 11 days if we work our work schedules right and we could go to Universal too!" So what has started out as an easy trip to plan and just the greatest hits tour, has turned into a very difficult trip to plan. Frankly this one has me stumped. Last 2 times I did everything through disney and it was easy. This time I will not stay at another value resort and we could go with Southwest for 49$ and rent a car and so on and so forth! What do you do when your planning goes beyond your planning abilities. I am NOT decisive! SOME HELP PLEASE :crazy2:

And without the hubby you can plan to your hearts content. YIPPEE!:thumbsup2 my husband was very anti disney before our first trip with our oldest. But he saw how magical it was for him and we had such a great time he is now a convert.

Have a great time with your planning and your trip.
