I realized this tonight and I'm ok with it! I used to try to hide my addiction, but NO LONGER!

I work part-time as a nurse, I'm a part-time graduate student, and a full-time wife and mother. I love all things Disney and especially DVC and DCL. I'm always looking to plan our next vacation to WDW. I have our trips mapped out for the next 3 years. My husband thinks I'm a nut, but this is what I do and it makes me happy.

Anyone else with me? :cool1:

HI, Jennifer! You know of course that we won't judge you here. I've been doing this for years and still keep coming back for more. Wouldn't want to miss anything you know! And there are worse things that we could be doing for sure! ;)

I would not think your nuts, we are all addicted to Disney. My plates have the initials DWLBOH or Disney World Little Bit of Heaven.
Enjoy
Bobby

We hear ya - have a good time with it!

As stated well by adminjedi, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

You are not even close to being alone on this one! My family thinks I am absolutely addicted and nuts!!!

But DVC and WDW make me happy, keep me sane, and allow my real world to disappear at a moments notice when I get home and log on to the DIS!!!

:) Hello Jennifer! DH and I love our DVC but I must say I am addicted to the DIS. It is my crack! I think in DIS abbreviations all the time and get aggrevated when I have to spell/speak it out for the family. So you are welcome to sit by me anytime. We are safe here and there is no 12 step program. :cloud9:

I too am a DVC addict. It's amazing how often I think about it. Always planning future trips, even have one started for 2014, which is really ridiculous since the dates aren't fixed, we're not sure of the number of family members who are coming to our family gathering. But hey, it'll probably take two years of points to pull it off. And then worry that we won't have enough will power to go a year without a DVC vacation. Addonitis will be extra contagious during that time period.

But have to admit, we have not succumbed to DCL as yet. We have taken about 25 cruises, none of which are DCL. And every time we look into DCL we are shocked by the cost. Besides we have some pretty good perks on another cruise line from having cruised with them so many times. They have us hooked there. And having no children of our own we don't have the guilty conscience of depriving the little ones of the experience of a Disney cruise.

Believe me the addiction to the DVC is more than enough for me to handle.

Yep, DH knows this waaaay before we got serious... at first he just smiles and nod when I talk disney. Now he is almost as into it as I am... :lmao:
There are way worse addiction out there than Disney... hehe

It's crazy to other people, but we all get it. :cool1:
I always get didn't you just come back from WDW.
I guess they just don't know what there missing.

I just wanted to say you and I have a lot in common!

My name is also Jennifer and I am a DVC addict:goodvibes

I love that you started this thread, it is great to be among other addicts. We are going to DLR next month for our first stay at the VGC but I am already planning our trip to WDW next June since I can make our reservations at our home resort, BLT next month! Although I just started posting on DIS I have been reading it for years and now think DIS has become another Disney Addiction! Everyone I know laughs at the Disney Freak that I am, but that is fine I don't mind, it definately magic for me:)

Hello my name is Jennifer and I am a DVC addict

Hi Jennifer. My name is Bill and I am an addict too! :lmao:
We purchased DVC Nov, 2009. Immediately made reservations for May, 2010 trip. Before making 1st trip home, we succumbed to addonitis and purchased another contract in Mar, 2010. We then made reservations for a Nov/Dec, 2010 trip and we are now planning a trip in 2011!

When we returned two weeks ago from our May, 2010 trip, I had "WDWPW" (Walt Disney World Planning Withrawals). For a few days, I felt lost because we had just completed our trip and I was not in the planning mode. Never fear, I just started planning for our post-Thanksgiving trip. I already have our ADR's; booked a Backstage Tour; got MVMCP reservations and as soon as they become available, we'll get a reservation for the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package!! To add insult to injury, we are meeting this Wednesday night with the two couples we are going with in 2011 to begin our plans for that trip!! :cool1:

I'm right there with you. We just got back a couple of weeks ago. DH and myself are still bummed. Can't wait to go back. To bad we just can't fast forward to our next trip.

:wave2: Hi Jennifer,

What a coincidence.....MY name is Jennifer and I'M a DVC addict too! :lmao:

:grouphug: I am a DVC and a DIS addict... isn't it great?!?!

I just finished with nursing school and I am currently waiting to take the NCLEX. Disney is one of the few things that keeps me sane. Actually, I am a pretty happy-go-lucky person so I am always ready to "assault" (I mean that in a good way) someone with my enthusiasm for all things Disney! My DH and kids are slowly but surely becoming addicts as well! ;)

Ha Ha! You are all so funny--and so much like me! :scared1:

I think (and it sounds like many of you agree) that planning the next WDW trip is at least half the fun. I even love planning OTHER PEOPLE'S trips to WDW. There is something so satisfying about making ADR's...

Glad to know I'm not alone! We are headed to BWV in November for 2 nights before our Thanksgiving cruise. Then we are going to go back in December of 2011 for a week's trip to celebrate our daughter's 5th birthday. I'm planning AKV (our home resort), but who knows?! :)

When I bought into DVC I told a few friends and kept getting the response.. "but to make it worth your while, you'll have to go to Disney World like every year."

"Umm...and your point?" :)

Hi Jennifer my name is Heather, and I too am a DVC addict. We joined May of 09 and quickly booked a trip at BLT MK view and I think that is what sold us right off the bat. Had a trip in Feb (during the massive snow storm here in Jersey) at the Boardwalk. I told my DH that people on the DIS say once you join you will quickly get addonitis... he didn't believe me... well two weeks ago while in Disney for Star Wars Wkend, we added on at SSR. SO excited. Have a Dec 2010 trip planned at AKL Kidani and booking our May 2011 trip for Star Wars wkend again. So you are not alone, and I am glad there are so many of us out there. :rotfl:
