These announcements seem like they are weekly now:

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-hello-kitty-universal-20150608-story.html

A new Hello Kitty store and meet and greet will show up in Universal fairly soon. (Rumor has it it may take over all or part of the Lucy Tribute near the front of the Studios park) Universal is aggressively tackling areas they have historically been seen as weak in.

It will be Hello Kitty and other Sanrio stuff.

There are more announcements for other new things (unrelated to Hello Kitty) coming up within the next several weeks also. (on top of the ones made for Kong, Raptors, Volcano Bay, Hotels, and new City Walk stuff)

i saw that earlier when it was announced and it wowed me....

i adore hello kitty !

Hello Kitty stuff is cute.

From a merchandising point of view it's genius........lots of my sons female friends and my friends daughters all go mad for anything with HK on it........

One in particular gives me a list every year of things to bring back.........all HK. May forget to tell her this.

I like Hello Kitty, but would be sad to see Lucy : a tribute , go away.I stop in there every visit

I can see the interest in Hello Kitty. Luckily, my DD has no interest in her now. We have a shop in our local mall, and there are always people in it, kids and adults with bags from it always seen in the mall.

LOVE Hello Kitty. Just another reason to bring the boys back in a couple of years. We were discussing Nintendo rides in Finegan's over lunch today.

I wonder if this will be a similar set-up to Spongebob Storepants? They have a Photoconnect location there where you can meet Spongebob and get pictures with him.....and the Photoconnect price has just jumped dramatically (again). They've added a Photoconnect location at the new Raptor encounter. Maybe this will be another to help justify the jump in price?

Aw man.. another thing I will likely miss. I would LOVE this! Probably a good thing we're going next week - will save me a bunch of money.

Has anyone heard an approximate opening date (a little more specific than "fairly soon")? We are going in November and I am wondering if I should bring extra cash for all the HK stuff!
