Hello...I've just booked!!!

Just thought I would introduce myself as I have just booked my first trip to DLRP
I am just soooo excited!
I'm Suzy and I will be going with my partner Vince and our two children Kira (5) and Jamie (4). We've booked 3 nights/4 days at Holiday Inn (wanted Explorers, but it was full ) during the autumn half term (23-25th Oct07).
I've been to Disney in Florida many moons ago and loved it, but DP and the kids haven't been at all.
I expect I will be scouring this board from now until we go for hints and tips - I've been lurking a while and it has helped me choose which hotel to stay at already.

we're going just before you on the 7th oct for 3 nghts , i am sooooooooooooo excited already , its really addictive coming on here to chat isnt it.

i'm sure you'll love it and halloween looks to be brill,have you read all the things that are going to be on in this month , we went in jan this year and was really good but not alot on bieng in jan soreally looking forward toseeing all the shows , parades etc..

how are you travelling there?

theres so much to plan and chat about

Hi Suzanne (ps that's my name too!),

I've not been able to find out what exactly is on when we go - any tips on where exactly to find out that info?

Since we live about 3 miles from Newhaven we are going over on the overnight ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe and then just driving to DLRP seems to be the easiest and cheapest option for us It means we should get 4 full days at the parks
Think I'll start another trhread about our route to see if anyone else have ever done it and how long it's likely to take.

Hi Suzy!! I've just started planning my trip with my DBF too, we go on Oct 7th (same as you cleous!) and are staying at the Explorers! We've done Florida too and absolutely loved it, I have been to DLP before when it had just opened (and I was only 10!) so I know it's going to be a lot different now and am really excited about going there with my DBF. I feel like a big kid!!

We're staying 2 nights and catching a late train on the Tues night.

Disneyland Hotel sounds fab, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time! I wanted to stay in a Disney hotel too but really couldn't stretch our budget that much. Explorers seemed like a good choice for us and they were doing a discount on Sunday arrivals which suited us perfectly.
