We arrived today although we are staying offsite because of an already purchased vacation prior to buying DVC. We couldnt wait to check out our SSR home again. We ate at Turf Club. Amazing... walked right in and got seated without any reservation on Mothers Day. Food and service was great.
My DW had the steak. I had the prime rib. Since we had pre bought this vacation we decided to us this vacation to check out the other resorts. Now I just so happened to have 10 points burning a hole in my pocket :rotfl: , so we are driving to VB tomorrow morning to check it out and spend the night. I have a feeling I am going to love this resort. This was definitely an expensive day. We bought our AP's and a golf membership. We loved the walk from DTD to SSR. Took the ferry back and enjoyed walking through west side and PI. VB here we come...hopefully will check back while we are there

We love SSR as well. After 2 stays we are branching out a bit . But DD and myself will miss the quick walk over to DTD.

Enjoy the rest of your trip and post on Vero as we are staying there a few days in Aug.

Now on the tee Summergolf.......hurry up before you miss your tee time! Since it is in your name, you realize you can't chop it up out on the course and report back with scores over 95! Remember to yell fore.
Hopefully you shoot under your handicap and in your trip reports there is some room for the 'golf report'.
Have a great time,
Chris

We drove yesterday morning from Orlando. We took the longer route first to Cocoa Beach then followed 1A1 south to Vero. We stopped at Cocoa beach for a bit. Not too many people there on a Monday morning. It was beginning to rain. I can imagine that beach gets busy in the summer. On the trip south on 1A1 the view of the ocean was gorgeous as you travel over the bridge at Sebastian Inlet. It was nice to hear the "Welcome Home"when we arrived. The resort is not too crowded. It rained on and off and was windy...my guess is that in the evening the winds were probably 40 mph sustained. After checking in and scouting the resort we went to the Green Cabin Room and sat in the veranda overlooking the ocean. We decided to just get the "tidal wave". A huge dessert for the 2 of us and not necessarily good for me a type 2 diabetic :thumbsup2 . We offset the the overdose in carbs by taking a long walk on the beach. We enjoyed walking barefoot and having the waves crashing into us. After a rain delay we went to the pool and spent probably an 1.5 hours in the pool and spa. All the DVCers we have met are really friendly. I forgot to mention we are in an Inn room w/ ocean view. they put us in room # 2317 3rd floor corner. Bedroom overlooks the ocean. The balcony overlooks the pool and ocean. Our impression was that the room was bigger than anticipated and the balcony smaller. We have no complaints. We ate at Shutters again with no reservations. My DW again had the steak and I had the pork chop....both dinners were very good. It looks like they do have alot of activities for the kids. Like alot of previous posters have mentioned, this is a perfect resort to relax with enough to do for the kids. I can see that we will love to come here for a coupe of days of r&r. Well we are heading back to Orlando in a few hours. will post again there. I will post golf report (assuming I dont stink too bad) :rotfl2:

We came back from Vero on Tuesday. Since we are relative newbies, everything is new to us...Buying the AP's is definitely worth it. We entered Epcot at the main gate...walked to the exit to get to Boardwalk and BCV,checked out those resorts...saw a studio at BCV, went to Beaches and Cream. I can see one day staying at BCV. Well we entered Epcot once again exited yet again to go to guest relations to pick up DDE card reenterd Epcot and enjoyed Test track and Soarin for the very first time..we had a 45 minute wait for Soarin and it was worth every minute. Had no reservations for dinner so we left Epcot and went to OKW to Olivias for dinner. As some previous posters have mentioned, the menus are similar. OKW is another resort I can see myself staying at. On Wednesday we played golf at Eagle Pines..First of all it is a shame they will be closing it..bulldozing it for the new Four Seasons project..I think Osprey Ridge will meet a similar fate by 2010.
Well, I will not be retiring anytime soon and joining the tour... a 94 just wont cut it.....:rotfl: We relaxed in the afternoon and again took advantage of the AP and went to MK at 7:30 just to stroll arround and see the fireworks.
Will update soon :goodvibes

Seeing Disney again thru the eyes of someone experiencing it for the first time is awesome! We're now "veterans" of WDW (we've been so many times I've lost count), and while it's still magic and wonderful it's also got that "familiar feel." That adds to the magic in one way, but it's so cool to read about the "wonder of the first impression"...

HOpe you continue to have a great time! Thanks for sharing...

Your reports make good reading on a damp, cool, English morning. I was at both VB and OKW just a couple of weeks ago so it brought it back for me - thanks :thumbsup2

Did the same thing on my last trip. Would never even considered going to MK just for the fireworks. But w/the annual pass it took all the contemplation out of it. It was like hey:idea: , lets just go over an watch Wishes. Really a cool thing.

Wow--you really are checking out all of the DVC resorts! Good for you and glad to hear that you are loving your ownership! :goodvibes

I had heard that they were going to turn over the Osprey course to 4 Seasons as part of the resort, but I thought that WDW was holding on to Eagle Pines as the 4 Seasons would be on the other side of Osprey Ridge by the lake. Maybe I am wrong. Are the WDW courses getting so little play that Disney would part with 36 holes?

This is the gospel according to the starter at Eagle Pines. Eagle Pines was quiet when I teed off though I heard there was some kind of outing that afternoon...Now I am playing LBV tomorrow and couldnt get a tee time until 11:30.I am looking forward to seeing this course because I will consider thism my home course since we own at SSR...and btw all you OKW people who have views of the golf course be careful between 11:30 and 3:30 on Friday I cannot guarantee your safety :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
