Hello from NC!

Hello all DIS-ers out there! My name is Genesa and I am in the midst of planning our Disney vacation for September 2011! My DH and I have both been to WDW with our parents while growing up, but it's been about 17 years since I've been and more than that for my DH! This trip in Sept. '11 will be my girls' (ages 3 and 5 at time of travel) frist trip and I can't wait to introduce them to the magic!

I've been reading The Unoffical Guide, listening to the WDW Today podcasts and surfing the web like crazy to try to learn as much as I can before our trip! Any planning advice is welcomed and appreciated!

I look forward to getting to know people here as I plan my trip!

Well hello Genesa-I'm just about guessing that you are somebody that I know in real life. I'm in NC and I'm pretty sure that we went to college together. (I don't know a whole lot of other Genesa's with 2 little girls that live in NC)

We went in 09 for the first time with our girls whom were at the time 2 & 5... the biggest bonus points of our trip go to 1- having a resort on the monorail (we were at bay lake tower) priceless for making the most of your time with two little ones needing rest 2- character dining before parks open (awesome b/c we already are up so early with little ones hungry + wonderful photo ops with so few in the park 3- character dining period!- we didn't wait in line to see hardly any characters b/c we saw them all while dining and got a little bit of extra attention due to the venue..... the book you mentioned was a great help as well for us! i'm already excited for our next trip Happy Planning to you!!!

September is SUCH a great time to go to WDW! I went for the very first time in September of 2009! We loved it so much we went again in September of 2010! I would love to go again in September of 2011... but as of right now we don't have any plans yet!

I've been lurking for a long time and just joined the boards today.
My wife and I met while working at WDW in 1988 as "summer help" during college and just recently started making the trip back to the World with our kids. I was a bit sad on my first return visit to see that my old ride (Davey Crockett Explorer Canoes) was gone and turned into what seemed to be a smoking area!
We just got back from a quick one night visit to the MNSSHP and have our next trip booked in September 2011 as well.

Welcome! I'm right down road from you in Morrisville. Until your post, I had forgotten about the canoes. For some reason, my family never rode them.
