Hello DisBoard folks!!!
I am from MD and will be taking a 10 day, 9 night trip to WDW in December 2012. It will be our honeymoon!! We'll be staying at Pop Century. Not exactly a honeymoon place, but it will allow us to be there longer, plus our inner children will enjoy it. We'll spend 2 days in Magic Kingdom, 2 in EPCOT, 1 each at DHS and AK, as well as a rest day in the middle and a day to pop over to Universal for WWHP
I am soooooo overexcited already. It will be the fiance's first trip and my first one since I was 8 (I'm now 30). The trip is also a massive reward for the hard stuff we've endured this year and still have in store for us. I lost my father earlier this year, my mother has had 3 knee surgeries and other health issues, and she will be emptying and selling her house of 35 years and moving which we need to help with, plus the man and I need to move out our current housemate (good riddance!) and move me in. Oh, and the wedding on top of all that. So, by then, we will NEED an epic vacation!
I've been doing a lot of research. The Unofficial Guide has become my BFF as well as DisBoards, AllEars, MouseSavers, etc.
Being a pair of foodies, I've already got most of the meals planned out. We're going to do it up big and try to get Chef's Table at V&A and also do the Dining Plan and have a nice dinner pretty much every night. Being as we have no kids, it will be a very adult Disney experience.
I do have some concerns, mostly over the decision to not rent a car and rely entirely on the buses and taxis, but driving around in unfamiliar territory even with a GPS can be a big stressor on vacation.
Also, I'm a very Pooh-sized girl with some mild to moderate chronic pain issues so I'm worried about my stamina and have pretty much resigned myself to not riding HP and the Forbidden Journey because of the size limitations. I guess if I start soon on walking and building stamina up I can get better, but right this minute, Mickey would whup my butt
But I just wanted to delurk and say hello
