Hello. :)

I've been lurking on Disboards for over six months now reading off and on. In the last month I've started reading daily in preparation of our Halloween trip.

I'm a 33 year old wife and mother to 11 yr old DD, and 3 yr old DS. My parents introduced me to disney world in 1980-81. I forget the exact year. I was 4 or 5. I remember that trip so vividly. At that time Mickey Mouse couldn't give autographs and I howled like a wild child. ;)

I've returned every few years since then. I got to introduce my future husband to the MK when I was 18. As a married couple this will our fourth visit, with our last being in 2007.

The kids have no idea we're celebrating Halloween inside the parks this year, nor do they know we're going to be there for Christmas again! :yay: I've nearly hooked the husband on going to Disney enough times to satisfy me. More than two years and I have horrible withdrawals! I believe our plan is to buy annual passes every two to three years and make it a Year of Disney.

Welcome to the boards and enjoy your upcoming trips! I think there is nothing like the excitement in your children's faces when they arrive at the Magic Kingdom.

:welcome:

Hello fellow Louisiana Disney Lover!

I have been trying to convince DH we need to go for Christmas this year, but I guess I'll have to wait til next Christmas!

Thank you ladies!

Momma, DH was like that too the first few years of our marriage. Every four, no more. This is the first year we're going to space two visits close together and only a couple years after our last visit. It doesn't hurt DS has a gung-ho Tigger fascination so we really want to take advantage of that before he's on towards somebody else. :p

We weren't planning a Disney trip this year, we were originally looking at 2011 but in March we purchased our first 5th wheel camper. I came home from the dealership and started calling for reservations. We had a bumper pull RV last summer, spent 9 days in it going to Washington D.C. and loved it. So it wasn't hard to convince DH to return to Disney for another extended camping trip.

Halloween sort of just landed in our laps. I mentioned MNSSHP earlier this year after I read on the Disboards that it has the best parade and fireworks. I love Halloween. DH looked at me like I had lost my head but we sat down and looked at the calendar. Oct 31st won't be on a Saturday for another five years and by then DD may not be interested in dressing up since she's already saying this is going to be her last year.

Halloween is going to be what my dad liked to call an "economic" vacation. We're driving down, spending two nights in a cabin at Ft.W, attending the MNSSHP and coming home on Sunday.

I'm a little hesitant at the crowding issues for Christmas but we arrive on the 18th and staying for 10 days. I've never spent longer than 3 days in the parks, so hopefully the extra time will compensate for large crowds. We also have allotted a whole day of nothing so we might rest.

I had a friend who went last year for christmas she said before the 23rd it was great and than the crowds built in between than and the 1st of Jan! You have a great idea about taking it easy over the 10 days....most dissers will recommend (that is what we did too) go in the morning for park opening and go back to the resort when the crowds start to build and go back around the time that most people start thinning for dinner!

again, Happy Planning!
