Hi we are have been here since Saturday and boy is it HOT HOT HOT I have never experienced such weather in Oct before.
It makes it so hard to enjoy things but we are trugding along anyway.

It is very crowded here at Pop and in the parks. There have been times when rides are a walk on but most have waits, but with the crowds I'm surprised its not longer lines? Seeing the characters is the worst, the lines never stop.
We have seen some at character meals but thats it.

Hallowen party Tuesday evening was packed hard to do much then either, lots of great costumes and tons of candy.
Just hard to get in the mood for Halloween when its 95 outside.

Some of the dining has been a disappointment...Cindy breakfast food not to good and characters rush through...and I thought Cinderella was suppose to be there?
Same with Crystal Palace(which is our fav) characters rushed through and food not up to par.
Hollywood and Vine was a surprise with good food and nice interaction.
Our fav has been O'hanna breakfast...great interaction and food pretty good.
We still have Boma, Tusker house, Coral Reef and Whispering Canyon to go...I LOVE free dining!!!!

Our grandson (2) has been so good and haivng so much fun.

I have blisters on my toes and don't know how I am going to make it any longer..any ideas??
I wore mole skin and it didn't help.

see ya real soon

Get some crocs for those feet. That, or invest in some good socks and comfy inserts like doctor soles or something.

Cool off on the water rides.

Sounds like you're having fun with free dining. Cindy shoulda been there for breakfast though.

Have fun!

The heat has been awful lately. We live in Florida year round and I can tell you it has never been this bad, and for so long. We were there a few weeks ago and the heat was so unbearable that we found ourselves going into shops and attractions that we had no desire to go into. We just needed to escape the heat. Just drink plenty of fluids early on in the day. If you try hydrating yourself after dehydration has already started, you just won't feel good. Make sure to protect yourself from the sun. I also noticed that the attractions don't feel as cool as they used to. It felt humid in some attractions. I don't know if Disney is cutting back on the air conditioning, or if it just can't cool all the way down when it is so hot outside. Have fun on the rest of your trip.

hope your in line for something by now instead of putzing around talkin to us:) my wifes answer to the foot problem? benches.;)

Florida is burning and they are getting snow up north. Go figure :confused3
Make sure you drink plenty of water and take many breaks. :goodvibes

Dang, that global warming;)

Sounds like you are having fun anyway, I can't wait to have grandkids to take to WDW!!!!

My daughter is a dancer and has very sensitive feet. She did an 8 hr. a day ballet/pointe intensive over the summer and had major problems with blisters.
Try putting a bunion cushion over the blister and then wrapping the top of the foot or just the toe in medical tape. Bunion cushions are round with a hole in the center to go over the blister, but the puffiness of the cusion holds the shoe off of the affected area. Try to take the tape, sock and shoe off periodically during the day to let your feet dry out. You could bring an extra pair of dry socks to switch off with. Try foot powder on your feet before you put them back in your shoe. Epsom salt soaks in warm water at night can help, too. If you could bring a pair of sandals and switch from one type of shoes to another during the day, that can help too.

Hope this helps and have a great rest of your trip! :yay:

Please-- what time was your meal with Winnie the Pooh at Crystal Palace?

Last time we ate here we took the 2:30 one and felt like we had characters to all ourselves. Thinking about the last breakfast time.

Sorry to hear it is so hot. Yuck!
As for your feet, ice them everynight. I like to fill the ice bucket with ice in the morning and by the evening it is ice water. Soak a wash cloth in it and wrap your feet in it, switching the cloth with a colder one every 2 mins. If you do this about 10 mins your feet will feel better.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!

Thanks for posting! I'm so glad to hear you liked Hollywood and Vine. . . I have breakfast book there and have been worried about that one. We do love CP, hope it is better when we are there.

I'm sorry about the heat and blisters. I've had a good experience with Band-Aid advanced healing blister bandages. They provide a nice cushion for the blister, stick pretty well and have pain relief medication in them. As for the heat, the frozen lemonade helped me last September when I was 7 weeks pregnant and sick, so I recommend those.:thumbsup2 I hit every frozen lemonade stand in the World I think.:goodvibes

NOTE TO SELF...never get ice out of ice buckets in rooms...

First off, I'll comment on the weather. I'm here now as well and sheez, this is unreal.

Yesterday I nearly passed out at lunch. Not to get too graphic but it gives you an idea. At lunch I drank a full bottle of water and had four glasses of water. I didnt use the bathroom ONCE until I went to bed that night. I drank all day long. Does that tell you about the heat situation here?

Its a shame. I live in SW Florida but no matter what people say, hot is hot. You dont get used to it when it's this hot. Its actually affected our touring. INstead of doing parks earlier in the day we do DTD and stay in stores and go to the parks in the evenings instead of earlier in the days.

AS for dining, I'd like to gripe. THere needs to be something done about the ADR system. Being able to load up on ressies and no show up with no punishment is unfair.

My wife, myself and our two year old were not able to get a single ADR or nice meal on property the entire week this week. You simply have to judge the times right. Here's what's unfair. Went to Crystal Palace, they told me there were no openings but the hour before, nearly nobody showed up for their ADRs. So again you have to judge it right. There needs to be a system im place to get people to cancel their ADR's if they are not showing.

Same thing today at Garden Grill. Lady told me people have been no-showing on ADR's all day but you just never knwo when it will happen and with a two year old it's not worth hanging around to find out.

I know you cant know where you will be at all times but at least CANCEL it!

Anyways, we were at the party Tuesday night. Can I make a comment here without being flamed? I may even make a whole post on this?

Ive done the parties several years. I never remember them becoming THIS commercialized as I've seen recently. We have been here since Monday and if we were not going to the party, we'd only be able to spend a night in MK two nights this week. Really that seems absurd to me. Between my wife and I we spent over $700 on tickets (two annual passes) and we cant get more than two nights in the MK without paying another $120 to spend time in the MK after dark. We did the party Tuesday night but we couldnt go tonight or tomorrow night because simply cannot afford another few hundred dollars in tickets.

As soon as this party is over, the MVMCP starts and it's the same thing! Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the parties but they're so often its just expensive!!!!

My point in this is, with so many parties, you are nearly forced to go to the party and spend the cash so you can actually spend vacation time at MK. I think this is why so many people are going to the parties because yes, they do seem more crowded than years past.

Lastly, when doing parties in MK, why not open a park like Epcot another hour or two later to let the rest of us enjoy the parks longer instead of being penalized into an earlier night because we cant or wont spend another $120 for the two of us (and even more when our child turns 3).

PP I totally agree about the parties only we don't do them at all. Yet DH an I was able to hit most of our favs several times last week I would have loved to have seen the fireworks at least one more time tho.

Back to the hot we was there the 3rd week in June when the heat index was closer to 120 that was miserible!!!!!! Last week sept 26 - oct 3 was not bad. Esp later in week when the humidity went down. After our June visit last weeks temps so much better.

we drank our water ducked into a few shops a few times took our afternoon breaks an did fine.

Did not find many crowds either most wait I ever saw for anything was about 40 mins no we did not wait that long we used fast passes monday night jungle cruise. thunder mountain was both walk ons by 8pm the same again wednesday night an thatnight park was open an extra hour cause of monorail being down all day many did not hear the announcement an left at 9 dh an I had a great time!!!!

We also went to the party on Tuesday night. We did not get much candy at all. Some of the tips I got from the boards did not work this year. At the trick or treat station near the Dole Whips, we each got a Tootsie Roll, those sweet tart type candy and either a small bag of M&Ms or Dots. Those M&Ms were the only chocolate we got, but we still had a good time. The lines for the special photos were ridiculous and that took up a lot of time. Lets hope the pictures are nice!

I agree that the weather is awful, but I guess we have to make the best of it. We have had some less than magical experiences this trip also, but let's hope we can all end our trips on a high note! Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

We've been to MNNSHP in the past and loved it. We were also there on tuesday and were quite disappointed. I don't know if it was the heat...or the crowds...but it just lost that special feeling for us.
