so those of you who will be coming here within the week or so, hope you enjoy your stay and see you all at WDW!!

That is so nice of you to take time out of your trip to let all of us future Grand Vista visitors that things are great!! Quick questions for when you get back: How did you get a new room? Did you ask in advance or did you ask when you checked in?? How close are you to WDW?

Again, no rush in answering.........enjoy your vacation!!!

Are you doing a timeshare presentation while there? I'm looking into this property...

Thank you for that info, I will be there in less than a month. We have a 3 bedroom villa, can't wait to see it.

Hello again! I had called a couple of days ago (to put in a request) after I did a thread search of MGV here on the boards... Thanks to other members I would have had NO IDEA about the new and renovated rooms. But definetly try pushing for a new room because I have read that the old rooms are horrible.. GASP.. but anywho.. we are about 7 miles away from WDW... at least thats what everyone is saying :earboy2:

about the timeshare presentation.. im not sure if we're going to go... we actually own at newport coast in california... we probably wouldnt have much time to come here.. =] but it is AWESOME over here i would love to...

HTH!!

Hi, SDRocKGirL. I'll be driving down to Marriott Grande Vista Resort on Sunday night. I can't wait.

I called and made a request for the new building.

Should I ask for a specific building and floor?

I would like to be facing the new pool. I'll be in a studio unit.

Sincerely, Ray

Yes they do and there is a fee. Not sure how much though. Anyone?
And I am talking a few years ago but I am sure if would be the same, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

We just got in this morning at 2:30 am after 8 days at MGV. We had a wonderful time and it was beautiful. Had a couple of small problems but they were tended to immediately. We had requested the magellan building because it is close to the main pool and they were happy to give it to us. I loved being able to walk right over to the pool The resort is massive so if you are not in one of the "core buildings" you would have to use a satellite pool or drive to the main pools. Everything there is lovely. They called and offered a $100. credit good for tickets, incidentals at the hotel, disney shopping, etc. but we did not take the tour. Time on vaca is just too precious!! They had lots of activities if you were going to be hanging out there, and the pools with the volleyball net and kid sprinklers etc were great. The bar there made great frozen drinks and made them "virgin" for our kids. Stay here with confidence and know you will have a wonderful experience. Anyone have any questions, fire away! :flower: You can help me work through my "I just got home and I am so bummed out blues" :rotfl:

can anyone provide a map of the resort layout, and which buildings are new and which are renovated. Would like to know what to request for our stay. Thanks

Howdy Ray!

Haha my brother's name is Ray, but anywho. As for the building, I don't know the building names but I know there are two that are hugging the new pool. I wish I knew about it because I would have liked staying there too! We are actually one building away from those two I was talking about previously. We are away from the central stuff so we have to either walk far or drive to certain things, which is okay but I would have preferred to be closer. It's probably a lot quieter too.

As for the floor, I think I would have preferred a first floor villa, because when it's hot and humid over here I don't want to be climbing stairs or using the elevator. We are on the second floor but the only downside to this is that we are in the middle of the building, the two stairs are on the ends of the building and I feel pretty silly using the elevator to go down one floor.

Hope this helps!! You're going to enjoy it here!!

We're inside right now cuz there's really bad rain, lightning and thunder!!! :earseek: I hope it's not like this for WDW!! PRAY FOR SUNSHINE!! :sunny:

Oh by the way RAY, I have found the names of those two buildings that hug the new pool :rotfl:

Unfortunately I don't have a scanner at the resort :rotfl2: but I will write the names of the buildings I do know are new or renovated...

IBIZA - where we are staying is brand new, but its on the outskirts of the resort, good if you want peace and quiet but if you like to be near all the stuff this might not be the building for you.

MADRID & ALICANTE - two buildings that hug the new pool, I'm not sure if they are new or renovated but I'm pretty sure if it's around the NEW pool, they must be NEW buildings.. haha but dont quote me on it :teeth:

thats all the ones I know... im pretty sure that you could get some help if you call them! HTH!!

ack the rain is still falling!! 6:16PM :umbrella:

Thank you for the info. I'll be working 16 hours tonight. I might need a nap when I get home at noon before trying to drive down to Orlando.

Sincerely, Ray

I found this in a search and know there are some others that were looking for info on what buildings...hope this helps somewhat!

(I arrive there on Saturday. I made requests for either the Madrid or Alicante or Magellan but the man I talked to didn't sound all that enthusiastic..I don't even think he typed in the request...sigh. But we shall see. I may call back again later.)

Thanks everyone :-))

This resort sounds wonderful. What is the best and cheapest way to book here? I don't think I've ever seen it on skyauction.
