Welcome!!!!
December trip...some things to make it special...
I think
-touring all the resorts and looking at the Christmas decorations.
-trying to ride upfront on the monorail(my boys finally got to do this on their birthday/and shared room with other children.
-If you are staying at the WL you could ask to be a Flag Family(the info is on
www.allearsnet.com search flag family)
-You can get a HB pin at the town hall at WDW for the 8 yo(a special thing might happer...or might not...my son got to go on the FP line of Buzz with out one)
-You could always rent a pontoon boat if this is a really big celebration or reward after some momentous event(or if you have a need to do something really different).
-I would highly suggest doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package.
-I also believe that since your 8 yo is that age at check in..you still pay a child's rate for the food plan and tickets. I would do the food plan and take advantage of the Character Meals(I love CHef Mickey...but for the Holidays LTT would be fun too).(
www.allearsnet.com)
-there's a thread somewhere about finding odd things like the ring at HM and the Key at MGM etc.(check on the Theme park/attractions board).
-You could also do the activity stations at Epcot...or attend the story tellers at the Holiday time.
-there is the Candlelight Processional
-Osborne lights
-Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
and you can not miss Wishes or Illuminations.
Post where you are staying and the lenght of your trip(and family coming)...and we can help more.
I hope you have a great trip. My boys really enjoyed their birthday at Chef Mickey...and I hope your plans go well. Make the adr's - look at the calander, and plan, plan, plan....post on the different boards. You will get tons of help.
