Good evening everybody (here in Italy is 10 pm),
I'm going to be in Florida in August and I'm going to spend 2 days in Orlando...

I will be in Orlando 6 august afternoon because I'm coming from Sarasota and I will stay there in the morning, so I decided to visit in the afternoon Sea world, next day I'm going to visit Universal Studios and Island of Adventures...
I'm asking some tricks from you... I've already booked the double tree hotel at the entrance of universal studios, is it really near to the park? by spending the night in this hotel is possible to enter before the regular hour?

I want to visit as much as I can so I'm asking you about VIP tickets and express pass how do they work? is it worth the money?

what's a good strategy to visit both parks? I can't miss

Hulk
Dragon challenge
Rip ride rock it
Spider man

what else is unmissable?

thanks to everybody and sorry for my poor english

Hello and
10.gif
to the DIS!

I'll try to answer some of your questions.

For early entry, I believe you have to book a special package at a Universal partner hotel...if you aren't staying onsite. Someone can correct me.

The Doubletree is right across Kirkman Road from Universal...it's a very easy walk just be careful crossing the street.

VIP tickets include your park tickets and unlimited Express access. They are pricey but if you only have the one day, it's something to consider. August is still pretty busy so it may not be a bad idea.

If you aren't going to go with the VIP tickets, you might want to go to IOA first and do WWoHP first thing and then do the rest of the park. If you get the park to park tickets, you can hop back and forth as much as you want.

You should try to do everything you can in both parks to get your money's worth but don't forget to do the Universal Horror Make Up show at the Studios. It's a lot of fun!

if you book an off site hotel package thru universal, then you can have the early entry.

if you booked your offsite hotel yourself, you will not have early entry to the parks.

Goodmorning everybody,
thanks for your answers...
So I think I'll buy VIP tickets, can I buy them at the entrance of the park?

So you suggest me to begin my visit in IoA end then go to US,so I think I'll spend the morning in IoA have lunch there and then go to US, where can I have a good brekfast in IoA, and lunch?

So you suggest me to visit first of all
  1. Dragon challenge
  2. Flight of the Hippogriff
  3. Poseidon’s Fury
  4. The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad
  5. urassic Park Discovery Center
  6. Jurassic Park River Adventure
  7. Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls
  8. Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges
  9. The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
  10. The Incredible Hulk Coaster
  11. Doctor Doom’s Fearfall

Then lunch, is better to eat in IoA or in the studios?

Then in the afternoon I'll visit
  1. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
  2. Twister...Ride It Out
  3. Revenge of the Mummy
  4. Disaster
  5. JAWS
  6. Men in black
  7. The simpson ride
  8. Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show
  9. TERMINATOR 2: 3-D

Did I forget something?

A good place for sweets snacks, in the studio?

I think I'll spend the evening in the city walk and I think I'll have dinner at bubba gump is it good?

I need to reserve a table in those restaurants?

Thank you and sorry again for my english

You can purchase the VIP tickets online or at the gates...whichever you prefer. I think it would be easier for you to buy them online and do the electronic pickup at the Will Call kiosk. You wouldn't have to waste time standing in line for the tickets. All you would need is the credit card # used and the confirmation #. It's very easy and usually there is no line to deal with.

As far as meals go...I would recommend Thunder Falls Terrace (counter service) or Mythos (table service) at IOA and Louie's (counter service) or Finnegan's (table service) at the Studios. It's really up to you as to when and where you want to eat.

Breakfast options at IOA include Cinnebon, Confisco Grille, Croissant Moon Bakery and Three Broomsticks (with reservations through an HP package).

For a sweet treat at the Studios, you can do Schwab's Pharmacy (ice cream sundaes), Beverly Hills Boulangerie (cheesecake and other sweets) or any of the ICEE carts throughout the park. There may be other options but I don't sweets very often so I don't pay that much attention. ;)

Bubba Gump's is good but I prefer Margaritaville. You don't have to make reservations for those restaurants but you can at the kiosk across from the theater...if you wish.

at the studios, do see the show, Horror Make Up Show....

it's great!

at city walk, NBA City and Latin Quarters are popular and have good food.

The new steak house is open and located within the Latin Quarters area.

we all have places we repeat as we enjoy them.
the above are a few of mine.

Thank you for your precious answers,
Now I'm asking you what's a good way to get dressed in the parks? I mean there are very wet rides? Is it necessary to bring a change of clothes/socks? Bringing a backpack is a good idea or it could be unconfortable? A camera to shoot photos?

Thanks again to everybody for your time

I would stick with clothes that dry fast but if you are going to bring a backpack, just remember you will have to put in a locker if you are going to ride any of the coasters and Forbidden Journey at IOA. Those attractions do not allow anything to be carried on. If you're OK with that, bring the backpack and extra clothes for changing after you've ridden the water rides and definitely bring a camera.

I would definitely bring a change of clothes, because you will get soaked on Ripsaw Falls. IMO, one of the best water rides ever built!! I would recommend eating in City Walk and not the parks. Bubba Gump's and NBA City are the 2 I would check out, but it just depends on your taste in food.

Have fun on your trip!

There are no parades and the shows run throughout the day. If you want to stay for dinner you certainly could. There are all kinds of restaurants in the park but I couldn't tell you to go there instead of CityWalk or DTD. It's a personal preference. What you should do is check out the websites and see if any dinner place peaks your interest. You don't need a ticket for DTD.

Hello,
so i think after visiting Sea world it would be nice to see Disney Downtown too...
what do you think of this program?

leaving Seaworld at 20:30/21:00
reach the Double tree hotel and take a shower
22:00/22:30 reach DTD for dinner and sightseeing/shopping

is it easy to reach DTD from my hotel?
where can I park the car?
is it better to take some shuttle bus?
if there are those shuttle bus till wich time are they operating?

Thank you again for you precious advice ;)

With no traffic, DTD is a 10-15 minute drive from the Universal area. There is a large parking lot at DTD--it is free but also crowded. Just circle for a bit or go further out and you'll find something. I wouldn't recommend a shuttle bus, even if I knew if one existed.

Yeah...having a car really helps and is the way to go.

you will get more answers to your questions if you post this in another forum.
the Seaworld forum will be more of a benefit to you.

the posters there might have gone through the same plans you are making.

there could be more disney staying people that have already done the transportation route that you need to find out about.

please do not take this as something negative, it is not.

just trying to lead you to a place where you will get more activity with your needs in planning your trip.

No ploblem;),
and thank you again for your advice.

And remember to contact me if you need some advice when you'll be visiting Italy :thumbsup2
