Hello,
I know it may seem a bit soon to be planning, but i am planning a trip for 2010, round about April!

I have never been to WDW so i could really do with some help!

First of all, ill just explain the situation,
at the moment it isn't completely decided who will be going on holiday.

It will, for definite, be my and my boyfriend, and my younger brother and sister, but my mum may also decide to come with us, and the problem we seem to have found so far, is not a lot of the WDW hotels sleep 5 people.

I am paying for the trip myself, as a treat to my boyfriend, and my brother and sister, because they've never had a holiday before.

We are not on budget as such, but i don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money!

Any advice would be really appreciated.....

Things such as hotels!
because I'm clueless where to choose at the moment,
suggestions for both 4 and 5 people would be great!

Another thing i could do with some advice on, is food!
The kids aren't exactly fussy,
But they only really like simple food, such as, pizza, pasta, burgers, nuggets & chips.

Also, do i need a credit card? (and if so what for)
Ive read online that i do, but I'm not entirely sure.

I have a debit card, with my all my savings on, which will be used to book the holiday, and i know can be used to withdraw cash and things,

I'm just wondering about the whole credit card thing, if i do need one i can get one and then just chop it up when we get home :)

Please please please, if you have any advice, write back and let me know

Thank you.x :goodvibes

Hi and welcome to the dis

You will find here that it is never too early to start planning your WDW trip and you will find all the help and information you need on here.

I believe that you can request adjoining rooms with connecting doors at some of the Disney hotels. However it may suit you more to rent a Disney villa by renting DVC points from a DVC member or booking one direct through Disney as they do have some availble for the general public. The 1 bedroom villas at AKL sleep 5 and the 2 bedrooms sleep 9.

They do tend to like to see a credit card when picking up hire cars or checking in at hotels. They don't always but its just easier to have one. It's nice to know if you see that one pressie that you would love to buy you can get it even if you've nearly spent up. Like you say you can always close the account and cut it up once you get home!

Another option to stay on-site is a family suites at the AllStar Music. They sleep up to six, there is limited availability but if you are planning this far ahead you should be able to get what you want. Two rooms at the All-Star could be an option too. I think the only other on site options are either a cabin at Wilderness lodge, or a DVC proprty as already suggested, but my guess is these will be more expensive. Off-site certainly has more options for larger groups and may be cheaper. See link for info on the All-Star suites but this site has lots of good information. Good luck with the planning, its worth the effort and it is fun.;)

Welcome to the dis :)

Im a huge fan of stayin onsite, but its easy to stay off-site and still have a magical time !

Will you hire a car ?

If you get a nationwide credit card they don't charge a fee for using it abroad :thumbsup2

I got a Nationwide CC when we went, it was the first time I had used a CC as I don't like the idea of being in debt. It was very handy to have and I paid it off as soon as I returned. I still keep it for occasional use, things like concert tickets etc and have just used it to pay my deposit for our Disney Cruise in 2010 :)

Welcome to the Dis :goodvibes and its never too early to plan! ;)

Hi, how definate are you about staying in a Disney hotel? We stayed in a fabulous resort in Kissimee this summer (about 10mins from Disney) the room we had was huge!!! It was only 2 of us and we had 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms!!! It was called Bahama Bay and was a fantastic resort.

Food won't be a problem, there will be plently of places where you can have a meal you fancy and there will be burgers etc for children.

Also yes a credit card would prob be useful - in case you lose or damage your other card a back up is def a good thing!

A credit card is very useful for buying things with especially recently with the collapse of various travel comapines if paid by cc then you are better protected than paying by cash or debit card, same goes for alot of bigger purchases.

Claire ;)
