Hi Disney friends-
I have recently discovered the WISH section of DIS, and since I have recently made some new health goals I would like to participate.
I signed up for the Disney Marathon, not half, having never run before:eek: . I got the book The Non-Runners Marathon Trainer, and hope that will help me work towards this goal. Disney is MY happiest place on Earth, so if I'm going to do a Marathon, the only place I would want to do it is there.

I am at least 60-65 lbs overweight. I gained 57 lbs when undergoing fertility treatments to conceive my boys, and have been unable to shed the weight by my usual means (I think b/c it was pharmaceutically induced). So I have acknowledged that I have to amp up my exercise, and since I have always wanted to do a marathon, thought I would use the training as a means to also drop some weight.

One of my questions is how to use the icons in the signature. For instance the weight amounts or size amounts. Do you post your goal weight or size lost or what you have accomplished along the way?

Anyone else a non-runner attempting their first Marathon? Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks, Donna

I have always had the fantasy to run a marathon but just don't have the nerve.....I think what you are doing is just fantastic!

 Donna! A great big :welcome: to WISH!

As for the information in the signature, I add mine via the USER CP and edit signature, that is where mine is stored.

I am not a runner, bad knees, but I did want to share with you that I took fertility drugs for 10 years and I know about the weight issues, but rest assured you can lose it!! Best of luck to you on your journey and good luck with the running.

:welcome: Donna to the WISH board!!

there is a link in my signature that should answer any general questions about WISH -- as for the weight and/or size images, you will find them in the 'smiles' section when you go into edit your signature as tiggerlover mentioned. they are alllllll the way down to the bottom of the section :teeth:

never EVER let anything stand in your way of chasing down your dreams! you can ABSOLUTELY participate in a marathon (doctor's approving if needed) or 1/2 marathon --- check out our Events subforum for just such inspiration!!
