Hell week 2017

Ah, well, more and more schools, not just those in FL but all over the South, are getting a fall break. A full week off in October. The more this happens the more you find a mini-Spring Break season at Disney. I guess that would be a week to avoid. But like Spring Break, it's sort of scattered throughout all of Oct so not really a concentrated week

I just searched the school calendar for Gwinnett County for 2017 and they don't have a break until Thanksgiving for some time to take off for the parks. So, I think Hell Week is not something to really concern yourself about. Maybe local kids go to the parks but it wouldn't be anything different from anything else. I've been to Disney World a lot of times and have seen a lot of things and have gone during all times of the year. If I encounter a group behaving "badly", I just adjust and move on. And I am talking adults and younger people. In my opinion, go to Disney World when you can go and let everything else work out.

Gwinnett County doesn't ever have a fall break but some other metro Atlanta counties do. And a lot of other states have them.

Isn't that week in reference to when fraternities and sororities do their pledging/hazing? I wouldn't think that would have any kind of impact on Disney unless the hazing involved riding Stitch's Great Escape over and over again.

That's the only hell week that came to my mind, too.

I'll take a seat on the Confused Couch with the rest of you.

This is where my mind went too. And I thought? Since when was Disney a destination for pledging/hazing? Then I thought maybe they are confusing Grad Night at DL, which can be a nightmare at times but isn't a week

Only thing I can think of is "Hell week ooda gone to Europe for what we paid for this trip to Disney World.":earboy2:

Make space on the confused couch for one more. Never heard of it in relation to Disney. The Greek system on college campuses or the insider name for Tech week in theatre, yes. But Disney? Color me confusified.

We have gone to WDW for the last 13 years. Each and every year was busier than the year before. It is NOT a quiet time of year anymore.
I didn't mean "quiet" but less than school summer break according to calendars!

It used to be...but I wouldn't count on it.

Agree - October is definitely gaining in popularity.

And with Pandora opening this summer (so we've been told ;)) I think the crows will be equal to, if not heavier than past years.

The schools surrounding Athens, Ga and UGA all get a long weekend the last weekend of October for the Ga/FL game. The public schools didn't used to close and UGA wasn't official but they gave up the ghost and now they just close. I would imagine a few who go down for the game might hop over to Orlando.

For some reason, I feel like I have seen that phrase in the US forum, when referring to Halloween Week and US has HHN 3 or 4 nights a week? I could be totally off-base with that. Other than that, the only thing I can think of is the week of Columbus day. Don't a lot of southern schools have fall break then? I have sen many people recommend people do NOT go to WDW during that week bc of crowds.

This will alleviate the confusion.......... There is no Disney Hell week. The OP has obviously been misinformed by someone. Don't put too much effort into trying to locate something that doesn't exist.
