Helicopters in Kauai

We will be traveling to Kauai in July and want to take a helicopter tour of the island. Can anyone recommend a good company to use. I've noticed that some of the companies offer tours in helicopters without doors for unobstructed views but I don't know if that will make the experience too frightening. We took a helicopter tour in Alaska so this won't be our first time, but that of course was with doors. Has anyone tried this and can tell us what it was like?

I don't know if they operate on Kauai or not but I just saw 2 different Travel Channel specials on Hawaii and both specifically mentioned Blue Hawaii Helicoptor for tours.

I can't remember the specific one we used, but they all ususally offer the same routes. What I read is that you should ask if the pilot provides commentary, or is it all music? Also ask if you can talk to the pilot and ask questions. Make sure your tour includes the Nali Pali Coast and Wiamea Canyon. The more window space on the helicopter, the better. Remember, someone is usually stuck in the middle back seat of the helicopter. Most tours will try and sell you a video of the tour. If you want to buy it, make sure it is YOUR tour and not just a generic one they filmed earlier. Some helicopters films will show the inside cabin during the flight and/or the conversations in the cabin. Almost all helicopters take off from the main airport, but at least one takes off form Princeville airport. Have fun planning!

When we went on our tour the cabin was inclosed and we could see just fine , it was a combination of music and pilot narration and the helicoptor had three cameras underneath that recorded you flight with the audio of the pilot,you and the other passengers asking questions,so you get a personal video of your trip, very cool.
