Does anyone have any info about helicopter rides over WDW? I read here that helicopters are allowed to fly over WDW. Has anyone done this? Where is the company and how much does it cost. We will be in WDW for Christmas and I would just love to give this to DH from the kids as a Christmas gift provided it doesnt cost and arm and a leg. Thank you!

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I thought I was always told that Disney has restricted air space above their property and helicopters are also not allowed??? I could be wrong though-but that was my understanding??

It will be a lot less expensive to just ride Soarin' a few times. :teeth: At the end you "fly" over Disneyland at Christmas - very nice & one of my favorite parts!

Best wishes -

Thank you so much. I know it would be cheaper for Soaring or for DH to stare at his calender for a few minutes..hee hee. I am going to call on Monday to see the cost of this...I bet it is $$$$$$$$

The only entity that has the authority to restrict airspace is the goverment. Property owners have no say in who or what fly's over the property they own. :)

I love the photos. The cost is really not expensive at all! It cost more for DH and DD to parasail.

When we were there earlier in the month we saw helicopters over every park except MK. It surprised me to see them and took away a little bit from the magic for me.

Read "Married to the Mouse''....you'll learn a lot about the Reedy Creek Improvement District and how it essentially is its own government. The District can and does dictate who is and is not allowed to fly in their airspace.

Anyway, I'm sure the helicopter thing is nice, but it sure can get annoying. We were at Winter Summerland last week and literally every couple of minutes there was a helicopter going over...a lot of the guests were grumbling about it because it was just nonstop.

Too clarify, I meant that the Federal Govt. is the only entity that controls airspace. Being a pilot we have to learn these things. I will say that there are many industrial sites that I've flown over to photograph, and I usually get a call from the Air Traffic Controllers asking how much longer I'll be there.

Thank you so much for all this information. I have always wanted to do this and maybe one day I will.
