Height restrictions....

We saw two little kids get turned away at Splash Mountain last week, because they didn't meet the height requirement.

My little guy was too short for a lot of stuff on his first trip and it was a major bummer.

But the good news is, some of the rides gave him special fast passes to bring back when he got taller and he's excited to cash in his Test Track fast pass in a few months (we've been since he was tall enough but that was while Test Track was down for that long stretch).

Also, on the next trip when he was tall enough, it was a BIG DEAL and we made a big fuss and took pictures of him GRINNING next to the height things at every ride and the CMs joined in making it a big deal. It was really nice. So there's always something to look forward to!

I hope my lil' guy doesn't get any of those fast passes......he'll insist I book a bounce back trip, lol.

People are tallest in the morning and shortest in the evening as the back compresses with all the day's standing, but relaxes back to a normal position after sleeping.

In adults the difference is difficult to measure. I think in children it must be more pronounced, perhaps because the spine is still growing?

This is true actually. Best bet is to try for those height restricted rides in the morning if you child is close to the mark.

Also, you have to teach them how to stand perfectly up - straighten their backs and level their head. Sometimes they slouch because they don't understand how to stand perfectly upright. It can mean the difference of riding or not though. Practice at home before the trip if your child is just at or close to the height mark.

Yes. DS rode Everest twice in the morning, and went back in the afternoon with FP and was denied becaise he was too short! :-(

That was really hard to explain to him. However, we went back the next morning, and he got on
