My son is a hair under 44" and we still have 4 months to go. I'm pretty sure at the rate he is going it is not going to be a problem at all.

With shoes on, he is well over 44 - close to 44.5"

I'm assuming the restrictions are measured 44" from the ground, which doesn't take into account hair, hats and shoes. Am I right?

Are there any CMs who would be so ship-shape they would require the children to remove their shoes?

Cheers!

If they are "normal" shoes, then you should be fine. If they are shoes that add more then a "normal" amount of height, then the CM's reserve the right to measure without them... and yes, it has been observed by other members of this board.

They will also flatten hair and not count anything on the head that may also add height.

Thanks... yep - we are talking sneakers/sandals. He is super close to the 44 - less than 1/2"... Pretty sure we will be more than fine. My daughter's birthday is three days from his and she shot up well passed 45" around that time in June/July. He's always been a little taller than her age-wise so by August... we should be good! :) He's grown 1" in the last four months....

You should be okay... but I also suggest not talking up the height restricted rides JUST in case. Remember, he's being measured by human beings so there is always the possibility of some error. The CMs have the final say as well.

also make sure he understands that he has to hit the bar with his head and not duck under. had that problem with one grandson. even if he is tall enough and he goes under he will not be able to ride

Good point!!! LOL Could see my monkey doing this!

And remember that even if he does make the mark, depending on his age, he might not be ready for the ride. DS was just turned five when he was right where your child was. He was my dare devil child and would ride anything he could so I did not even give it a second thought.....nope. For some reason he hit a phase where he was fearful and after BTMR he was DONE. No EE he had wanted to do and not even SM he had been so ready for. Just something to consider.

I am prepared fully for this. We took our DD at the same age and she actually loved everything more than I could have imagined.... except not as much Dinosaur, we had to try Haunted House a second time (at her request the last day)... we stupidly attempted it on MNSSHP night when there was a "Ghost" in the the courtyard which started to spook her... and for some reason Sci-Fi Diner... the rest - she wanted to do all roller coasters multiple times and is so excited to do Rocking Roller Coaster this time!
