Last year my 5 year old was given a card at Expedition Everest that states:

Young Explorer:
This is to certify that you may join the Expedition to Everest as soon as you are as tall as the posted signs..

I have been told it can be used as a fast pass.
Is this true??? :confused3

Thanks

I'm not sure about the Fast Pass bit...but I am wondering how tall your son was?

My DD was able to ride it in 2007 at age 5 and she was *just* up to the line on the post. I'm curious if they've changed the height requirements.

Anyone?

He is a little short and was a little nervous. Taller shoes probably would have pushed him over, but he just turned 5. ;)
I don't think they changed the height requirements.
Just wondering if the card is worth bringing?

It might be fun to keep for his scrapbook. :)
Unless he's going to ride alone (I'm sure that's not happening) you'll all need to get new FP's anyway, right?

I have been told that it will work for the child and the family!?!?

I guess I can take it and see, just wondering if anybody else has gotten one and used it before?

It has a blank space where they fill in the date they were actually tall enough to ride.

I think they might date it and then hand it back (hence, making it so you can only use once)

Just a theory though!!
Wish Mt. Everestt had a phone number. I would call and ask

Okay, so a good strategy would be to go to EE, get FP's for the whole family, then present just the "you're too little" card to the FP CM and see what happens. If they accept it for the whole family, SCORE!
:thumbsup2 You get to ride again with your new FP's!

We used one at ToT. The sweetest CM actually gave it to DNiece when she chickened out (although she was tall enough) on her first trip. It got our entire party in the FP line.

which had a link to someone who was selling these (and other attractions) on E-bay. The seller claims that they are valid as a fastpass for the child and the entire family.

Yes.
Bogus rip-off.

Because (as I stated above) at WDW these MIGHT or MIGHT NOT
be used as FP's.
It is hit-or-miss.

At WDW they are not "designed" as family FP's, but sometimes
a CM will let guests use them for that.
No guarantees.

anyone else ever use one of these, we have several from our last trip and my son is tall enough now to go on all the rides. it would be great if they could be used as a fast pass.

My daughter doesn't work at EE but at the attractions she has worked at that give out that card they have worked as a FP in the future for the child and his family. If the CM at the entrance isn't familiar with it it is probablly because they are new or haven't come across one - you can always ask them to ask a manager.

Definitely will work, my nephews(twins) both got them when they were too scare to ride with the rest of the family. They were probably tall enough, but too afraid. They each got them at 3 different attractions. When they went back and were ready to be adventurous, they used them as fastpasses. And the CMs let them only use one at time, so they rode each ride twice with these cards. Pretty cool! They still tell the story all the time to try and make me jealous.

At DLR they work as FPs depending on the crowds. Had one for Grizzly River Run there, and never got to use it b/c the line was never more than 5 minutes. Tough problem to have!

Worked well for Star Tours, though...they sent us through a side door that led up stairs and right into the loading area, just coming the opposite way. brilliant.

So take 'em back to WDW, might as well try! (and if they work, they work for the family) (and at DLR, they mark them then hand them back so you can still keep them for scrapbooks etc, so I assume they do the same at WDW)

we have had the no strings attached passes at DL just hoping these work at WDW

Thanks

We are told they are good in the FP line for 6 total in the party. It will depend on the CM though. A lot of times they just aren't trained on it.

It's the same at TDR too, you can use it for up to 5 members of your party when your child reaches the required height. It should be the same for WDW.
