I saw these for sale on ebay (item 110383403975). I can't beleive they are selling these (and they sold quite a few of them!) but my question is- are these given out anymore?
When we went in Feb, my nephew was not tall enough for a few rides and getting a card like this might have made him feel better! We were not offered the card and I never knew it existed :confused3

It is not ("officially") used in the way it is described.

It is just a cute little memento for a child who is too short to ride the attraction.
Sort of a "you can come back when you're taller" greeting card from the ride operators.

Can you say, "eBay Scam?"

Description
This a great way to get an Official Expedition Everest Height Requirement card to be used as a Fast Pass for the family. These cards do not grant you admission into the the Walt Disney World theme parks. They do allow your child of proper height and the accompanying family to enter the specified rides Fast Pass line. Anyone that has used these cards can tell you what a time saver they are. These cards allow your family to bypass the stand-by line and enter the Fast Pass line. Usually you are on the ride within minutes rather than waiting an hour or longer which could be experienced in the Stand-by line during busy times (ALMOST ALWAYS). Me and my family over the years of visiting Walt Disney World theme parks have acquired these height requirement cards. I'm now selling some of these cards that I have acquired to help family's to save time and have a more enjoyable visit to the Walt Disney World theme parks. I must also add in all of the years of using these cards as Fast Passes I have never had any problems using them as a Fast Pass even with a large family group of 12. Please note that you will have to adhere to the height and health restrictions. This Fast Pass card has no set return time or expiration date. These Fast Passes allows 1 child of proper minimum height of 44 inches and the family to accompany them on the ride in the Fast Pass Line. The card is then Dated and the blanks filled in to prevent reuse. This is a Great Family Fast Pass, Souvenir or Trading card. This card allows you to Fast Pass other rides saving you time for other rides, with Fast Passes. Front of card features Animal Kingdom's Expedition Everest greetings from 29,000 feet BEWARE of the YETI! Back features YOUNG EXPLORER This is to certify that you may join the Expedition to Everest as soon as you are as tall as the posted signs.* "I was tall enough to ride on " with blank for Date.* From a smoke and pet free home.* Please take a look at View seller's other items.* Thank you for looking have fun and hoping to SHARE THE MAGIC WITH YOU.

OMG for real? I swear some people will do anything for a buck!

I've never seen or heard of them.

And if Robo says they don't exist, then well, they don't.

:cutie:

Well, the CARDS exist, they are just NOT for the purpose that the seller
is claiming.

They MIGHT be used that way, but as far as the card specifically being a
"Height Requirement Met FASTPASS" for the whole family?

No guarantees that would happen.

Now that I go back & look at it more closely on eBay it looks like something they'd give a child that was too short to ride, so they could come back on their next trip & ride through the fast pas line. Like you said, definitely not to be used as a general fast pass for the whole family!

I know it doesn't translate directly, but at Disneyland/DCA that is exactly how those cards are used. They even say "good for up to 6 people" on them, and "one time use".

DS got one for Star Tours, and when we went back, since there's no FP line there at DL, they sent us through a back door and were literally ushered immediately onto the ride.

He got two, actually, for Grizzly River Rapids, b/c he insisted on measuring himself twice for it and was so disappointed the CM handed him the card without giving me a chance to say "we already have one". We still have yet to use that one, though. We show it to the CM and they say "it's a 5 minute wait, no need to use this for the FP line". This has happened repeatedly. (actually I think I have filled in one of them, to commemorate it anyway, even if we haven't used it)

So at least at DLR that is what they are used for; quick access for the family of the child who was disappointed on a previous trip but has now grown.

By the way, the second GRR pass won't be used, just kept for posterity!

Someone pointed these out to me before. None of them have any language that states that they are any sort of Fastpass - I believe them to be nothing more than something to give to the child who doesn't meet the requirement as a consolation and let them know they can ride as soon as they are tall enough.

But I remember a conversation from someone that either was a CM or was told by one that it could be used as a Fastpass (nothing about it being for a whole family though that I remember).

We have never, EVER been offered one though - but my youngest knew she wouldn't meet the height and didn't fuss about it. She's tall enough for almost everything now (rode Everest 6 times this trip, her first chance ever), and made a point at one measuring stick by walking IN to it...

Any recent experience with these? We are planning on going this summer and have a few of them and wonder if they still work.

I think there have been more recent threads. As far as I know they still have them, and nothing has really changed with them. It appears that (most?) CMs will accept them as a group FP, at least for a small group.

yeah but somethink like this will stop that from continuing I'm afraid. It is sad that someone is trying to make a buck off this :(

Younger dd got one from EE when she was too small to ride. When we went back the next year she made sure we brought it along. They allowed dd and one of us (dh OR I) to ride with her through the fast pass line. I went with her and dh and older dd had to wait.

Wow, I didn't know they still had those:confused3

Guess that is something that we should look into when we return.

My grandson was devastated that he could not ride Test Track since we thought he would be able to because he measured slightly over 40'' on a doctors appointment. We completely understood and the CM was so nice and understanding and took him aside. He gave him a card and told that next time he came to bring the card and he could go in a special line to have VIP, ride. He then said to me that he could bring it back and be used as a fastpass. Well, he thought he was so special.

fastforward to December 2010, a year later.

My grandson took his Test Track card back this past December and 6 in the group were able to ride using the fast pass line. Minuse myself and his smaller brother and sister. No questions asked, they took a look at the card and said, "ok" and on they went.

My son got one in February when he was just a little bit too short to ride Test Track. When we got home he had me put it into a frame in his room. He calls it his Mickey card. I doubt we'll bring it back but it brought a smile to my son's face when he got it.

In 2008, my daughter received one of these when she barely missed the height requirement for Soarin. When we returned in 2009, we presented it as a fast pass and were ushered into the fast pass line. We then got a little Disney pixie dust. When we proceeded through the fast pass queue and approached the cast member who was taking the fast passes, he was entertained by how excited my daughter was to ride. He told us to hang onto our paper and use it again later in the day to ride again. So actually, we got to ride twice with one of these cards.

I would have reported this seller to ebay for fraud. While these do exist, they hold no monetary value.
