Caution, this day was quite a long and successful one, which means there's quite a few pictures to go with quite a lot of writing
It's apparantly so long that it's had to be split into 2 posts because I over-ran the 25 image limit (by a long way). Oops...
Anyway:
First thing Sunday morning I awoke to the sounds of my alarm clock going off at about 7ish, singing the words "come a little closer... turn another page". I got up and dressed while the others went off to collect breakfast from the hut at the end of our trail.
Breakfast at the Davy Crockett is reasonable, although no where near as substantial or good as at any of the other hotels, especially as you don't get much of a say in what you get. Breakfast at the DCR this time round consisted of croissants (1 per person), brioche (1 per person), 1 full length baguette (I believe the size and number of this also depends on the number of people) cartons of minute maid orange juice (guess what... 1 per person
) and 1 decent sized carton of mik (optional). You also get a small selection of butter and jams to put on your breakfast. It is, of course, posible to buy something different at the shop and have that for breakfast instead / as well, but we never bother doing this apart from bringing over some best of both bread, anchor butter and a toaster.
After breakfast, we loaded up the car and headed off to the parks. We parked back in winnie the pooh and walked straight to the Disneyland park, so we got there for about 9ish.
First ride was (as usual) Buzz, followed by Orbitron. We then took a small detour to see a certain minor discoveryland detail for ourselves (see below to see where we went. The person who was responsible for our detour knows who she is
)
After the minor detour "enforced" upon us by an unnamed DISer *cough* Hildasmuriel *cough*, we headed over to the studios to attempt to join the crush for crush.
Unfortunately, we were too late and they had already let people into the park by the time we got there, so there was already a queue long enough to hold about 90 minutes worth of people. Needless to say, we decided to give Crush's a miss this time.
Instead, we had a casual wander round the studios and went for some more character spotting. This time, we got to see Mickey (again), and Emile.
After visiting our new character friends, we paid a visit to Cars, Flying carpets and the tram tour.
After these, we wandered out towards the exit as there was nothing else that we wanted to do and it was edging towards 12:30 when we had a lunch reservation at the steakhouse in the village for Sunday brunch. On the way out, there were more characters gathered in the courtyard by the entrance, so we got to meet both Chip and Dale before they left, after which we followed suit and headed towards the village.
At this point, we had about 1/2 hour or so to spare before lunch, so we popped into the shops in the village to have a look around.
We then headed down towards the hotels for a brief walk around the lake. On the way past the Rainforest cafe, we got held up briefly sitting and staring out the large crocodile outside, before walking round to the new york.
After our brief walk, we turned back round and went into the steakhouse. We were greeted there with a glass of champagne and were then shown to our table where we enjoyed another very good meal. There were less characters here than at Inventions, but we still got to meet Goofy, Donald and Pluto.
After another enjoyable and filling buffet meal, we headed back to the Disneyland park, where we started by travelling into Discoveryland. We went for a quite walk around the Nautilus, then decided it was time to go on Autopia.
After Autopia, we headed to the very far opposite end of the park and into Frontierland. We picked up a ride time for BTM (the disabled queue for BTM works a lot like fastpass as you have to pick up a time from the entrance, then come back at that time, although the queue is shorter than the fastpass one and is found through the exit). To kill the time waiting for our BTM time, we had another ride on PM. We then went on BTM which was as fun as ever, especially from the back (which is where disabled guests are always seated, even though it's the most forceful seat. Go figure - I'm not complaining!). It was good to be able to actually ride BTM this time round, as it was closed for a rehab when we last visited back in January.
We then headed round towards Fantasyland. On the way, I noticed that the keel boats were running which none of us had ridden before.
